I have a had a lot of shredders over the years. Nothing beats this one. Commercial quality. No jams, churns through piles of paper, CD's, staples. Amazon was really great too. Sadly their own brand shredder fell part and they collected it from my house with this Fellowes replacement arriving by Prime. First class service!!!Follow up: Still a great shredder. However the confetti is not very compact possibly because the paper is heated in the cutters so its quite hard. This means you have to empty the bucket frequently which is messy. I dont know if there is better shredder which compacts the confetti better but I am still happy with the machine.

Having had to say good bye to my previous shredder when it became totally jammed, I chose this jam proof model. In the short time that I have had it has performed well and I am very pleased with it. It is true that it is less noisy than other shredders that I have owned, but does make more noise than I was expecting, hence my score of 4 on noise level.

I've had quite a few shredders in the past that never seem to last very long. I bought this on a recommendation, I wasn't planning to spend that much, but when I turned it on I just knew it was good.It has a very powerful and quiet motor with a cool indicator on the top to show how hard its working so you can pick the most efficient number of sheets to shred at once. It also has sensors stopping the motor if hands get near the slot.You can buy specific bags to line the bin, but I found that the normal 50l bags you buy for kitchen bins fit perfectly.If I had to buy another shredder I would bbuy this one, but I suspect I won't need to buy one any time soon.

Purchased to replace my excellent Fellowes 62MC which shredded both paper and cardboard for my compost bin. This one looks great but is hugely disappointing. Showing the bin door is open when closed. If you can get the light to go out by pressing on the top of the unit (hit and miss where you need to apply pressure), the light goes our, the fan starts but then it doesn’t activate the cutters.Reading a few other reviews suggests that I am not alone with my problem. It may be a design issue with their intellibar system.Even if it worked as it should put of the box I do wonder how long it would last before it would develop issues if there are patchy quality control issues.

I bought this to replace a Bonsaii one that fell off a chair onto the floor and stopped working.This item is clearly a proper professional unit as it has a separate cooling fan you can hear after the shredder motor has stopped. The unit itself is nice and quiet and unobtrusive.It is a little large for a small home office but it does fit under a normal height desk.I ran it today for 20 mins and it worked the whole time without issue or overheating.The paper particle size is miniscule so there is little chance of reconstruction unless you are being investigated by the FBI. I also like the way you can fit bags to the waste bin to allow easier disposal.Its worth buying extra oil as you need to oil this every time you empty it - as per manufacturer instruction.

PRODUCT WORKED WELL ON FIRST USE BUT JAMMED AND COULD NOT BE RESTARTED. PRODUCT IS TO BE RETURNED UNDER WARRANTY. NOT HAPPY WITH AMAZON THAT SUCH A HEAVY ITEM IS TO BE RETURNED BY POST AND NOT HAVE A PICK UP OPTION. CONCERNED THAT THE TOTAL COST OF RETURN WILL NOT BE MET BY AMAZON.

I bought this to replace a Fellows MS - 450Cs which simply stopped working after some years of solid use. I now wish I had simply re-ordered another one!I chose this machine because it has a higher capacity and is jam proof. That's fine but:-1. It is noisier/more prone to vibrate and buzz2. It is almost impossible to feed in small objects like credit card receipts - it seems necessary to fold them into an A4 piece of paper so you can then push the "packet" into the depths of the feeder slot.3. The resultant shredded trash is much larger slips of cut up paper. This bulks up inside the machine immediately beneath the cutters thus stopping the machine. If that doesn't happen, the bigger sized pieces take up far more space in the trash bin, so you have to keep opening it an pushing the trash down in. This can be partially alleviated by not using plastic trash bags inside the bin.4. The resultant shredded trash is not so secure as the tiny bits that the MS-450Cs produces. I think that might be hyper-critical unless you are shredding highly secure information.On the plus side, the larger trash is far more "stable" when you are emptying the trash bin - far less likely to "escape" the process and get onto your floor.There are so many shredders to choose from within this price range, and the chosen one does last quite a long time, it's easy to choose the wrong one - and then you are stuck with it for a few years.........And now I discover that the CRC number on the machine and its packaging is a number Fellowes does not recognise - so I can't register it or review it on the Fellowes web site. Amazon is trying to find an answer to that problem at the moment.THIS IS A FOLLOW ON FROM THE FIRST REVIEW:-Amazon could not find an easy answer today to this problem. So I then found out that I've been right all these years in dealing with Amazon! The customer services guy gave me the options of - sending me another machine of this type, collecting the machine from my door using DPD (the best courier service in this region by far) and giving me my money back (choice of methods for that) - so I took the latter and ordered a MS 460Ms which will come tomorrow. So I'm not without a shredder, I don't have to go carting the old one to the post office and I'm a happy customer.

Working well and sensor system is also nice. No risk of finger damage and machine won't accept more papers than the capacity. Easy to move and not consuming more space.

Le broyeur neuf tourne en permanence et à vide. Impossible de l'arrêter sans le mettre en position OFF. La détection de présence de documents est donc non fonctionnelle. Impossible de prendre contact avec la société FELLOWES. A fuir absolument, produit et fabricant.

I had a heavy duty Brother machine for years that was a loud old beast. It finally gave up the ghost on some transparencies I ran through it. This Fellowes job is soooo much quieter and seems to handle as much or more paper without a hint of distress.

I upgraded a much smaller 5 sheet shredder to this shredder. Junk mail goes in unopened and it shreds without a problem. Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the shred bin is cheap corrugated plastic held together with plastic clips. 2 clips came apart and made it hard to slide it back in and engage the safety. I glued the clips and haven't had any other issues and figured it was a product of Covid manufacturing. Will shred high page counts constantly for about 30-40 minutes before the thermal safety kicks in, but unit cools down rather quickly. I bought the bags for the big and keeps things cleaner, but no sure way to keep the bag in place with clips. Safety feature is great peace of mind with kids and won't allow your fingers anywhere near the blades before it stops. I would buy this shredder again.
