A good unit that should have been better.WHAT'S GOOD:Most ANC headphones have a boomy, overly-bassy sound, and a huge discrepancy in the sound between ANC on or off. These headphones are quite good in both these respects.Most are annoyingly bulky. These are refreshingly compact and foldable.WHAT'S BAD:My main gripe is the utterly moronic battery cover. Philips was so obsessed with aesthetics, so determined to have no evidence of a battery cover, that it designed a cover that is irritating to use and very likely break with normal use. Worse, the instructions for how to open it are pathetic. There's a diagram that leaves you scratching your head, and I am sure that many people break the thing simply trying to figure it out.My other point is that the cord is on the right side, which is great if you're left-handed. I am not in any way complaining about this per se, but rather than I would have been happier to have paid a few quid more and have a detachable cord that goes in either side.

I was looking for a good set of headphones and these Philips Noise-Cancelling headphones fit the bill good price, good quality, and most of all a great sound!! at £39.99 no complaints.

I don't know if I was just unlucky or not however after about 20 minutes use there was an awful lot of screeching and scratching coming out of one side only. Optimistically I replaced the supplied battery just in case that was running out but to no avail.Whilst the noise cancellation was working it was pretty good - sufficiently so that I may well try another pair of these lightweight and comfortable headphones and update my review accordingly but, until then, they barely scrape 2 stars.

Do exactly as hoped and drown out noise whilst typing out dictation

This product lasted 3 months. It stopped working out of the blue. the sound quality is surprisingly good. The noise cancellation is very poor though and it is not comfortable at all

Very poor. There was a heavy crackle in one headphone when the noise cancelling option was turned on. I'll never know how prevalent the issue is because I didn't get to return them....unfortunately the dog (honestly just a small collie) jumped up while I was crouching down to her and while I had said phones on and her paw caught the cable. With little downward force the plastic to which both headphones were attached, snapped irreparably. They're really quite fragile.The sound quality was mediocre...I'll be going back to another pair of the superlative-for-the-price Koss porta-pros at half what these cost.
