Works REALLY well on cracked plastic motorcycle fairing
I recently purchased a motorcycle with a small crack in one of the side fairings. The crack had weakened the strength of the fairing so it was important the repair worked.I followed a tutorial on Youtube and the Plastex worked just fine - just make sure you open a window or work outside as the activator does fill the room with quite a powerful odour.Tip - less is more, only drop a small amount of activator into the powder!10/10 product

Bike fairing repair.
The plastex arrived quickly, l used it to repair my fairing ,l followed the instructions and it did the job l also reinforced the repair on the inside of the fairing with plastic fibre which plasters use, after 24 hours the plastex was hard , and now after 3 weeks the repair is still good , the only item in the kit that is used to form broken parts didn't work , but l really didn't need it for my type of repair . cheers

Great for repairing motorcycle fairings!
When i got this product my initial thought was that there wasn't going to be enough to fix my motorcycle fairings, but its deceptive, a little goes a long way. i had a large crack and some fairing plastic missing and i used this product to reattach, fill a gap and weld a crack back together and it worked well on all of those accounts. The only place it failed was on a lug that had to be rejoined to one of the panels, when i went to tighten it back to the bike it pulled itself away from the fairing, so although it is strong stuff its not really ideal for areas that need to be screwed down under too much pressure. For general body filling and repairs though this stuff is perfect, easy to work with and not as messy as some products. It files down nicely afterwards too, ready for epoxy filler to get those panels back to new again, i used a dremel for this as it sets quite tough.

Tried with a small job 1. 5mm dia replacement ...
Tried with a small job 1.5mm dia replacement. Did not work well. Then a slightly bigger job. worked OK.One thing i would say that for the £24 you do not get much powder. to replace parts you see on youtube would take a lot of material

Worked really well. Sound repair.
I purchased this to repair a crash damaged ABS motorcycle fairing. I followed the instructional dvd and used the backing tape technique. The powder is very fine and nicely filled even the smallest parts of the crack and once the liquid component (foul smelling!) was added the entire crack was filled nicely. There was some shrinkage in some places so i would advise a little excess plastex be used on areas requiring a lot of fill. Another top tip would be to ensure that the area to be filled is as horizontal as possible to avoid the plastex running. It set quickly and was as solid as new within maybe 4 hours. Once fully set I began sanding - this takes some dedication as this stuff is obviously very homogenous / resistant to abrasion. With a little body filler and a couple of coats of primer I can no longer find where the crack was and so I award this 5 stars. It is quite expensive however the cost is insignificant compared to replacing the fairings entirely. One small gripe is that the black remouldable putty didnt seem to work particularly well for my application although I suspect I was probably asking a little much from it.No garage should be without
