Stonewall Kitchen Buttermilk Pancake & Waffle Mix, (2 Pack (33 oz))

I received a small container of this waffle mix in a gift basket and fell in love with it the first time I made some buttermilk waffles.Unlike a number of brands I've seen on store shelves this one uses milk in the mix rather than water. If you like you can substitute buttermilk over whole milk for a more intense buttermilk flavor.It's easy to make. Just whisk this with an egg, milk, and butter until it's smooth.My electric waffle maker cooks this for about 3 minutes and they always come out crispy on top and nice and light in the center.

I’ve been on a pancake craze lately… I have been surprisingly impressed with the flavor and texture and deliciousness of a couple mixes that I have tried recently, where you simply add water on milk… I always add milk or half-and-half... The local Florida Publix brand of buttermilk pancakes I thought were delicious, and the Krusteaz buttermilk’s were fantastic, more recently… So I thought I would try the Stonewall Kitchen buttermilk’s where you actually add buttermilk and an egg and melted butter thinking I was going to get something more real, & even better than all the others, but incredibly, I could not get myself to take more than five or six bites before I put them in the sink and turned on the garbage disposal… I thought they were shockingly bland in flavor, or of anything appealing... At 10x the price! I even used Kerrygold, butter, and real maple syrup, with the intention of going for the gold! I may try some other favorably reviewed mix, or maybe I’ll just stick with Publix or the Krusteaz Buttermilks…
