Much better fit and feel than the stock wood or Pachmayr grips. I find the fancy factory wood grips lacking for bowling pin shoots; nice to look at but not to use. I replaced them with Pachmayr SG-N decelerator grips. These were much nicer to grip than the factory wood. however, the grips were thinner than others and front to back were longer, at they cover the back strap. This long and narrow grip felt awkward to me. Also, the screw protrudes too far and I can feel it. Since I use Hogue grips on all my autos, I decided to give them a try. I love them. The shape fits my hand and feels comfortable and natural. This mono grip slips over the frame and attaches with a screw and adapter provided with the grip. the adapter slips over the revolver's mainspring roll pin. I highly recommend these grips.

After reading the reviews for the only competition, I saw that the competitor's grip (Pachmayr) had a horizontal screw that protrudes when tightened so much that it scrapes your hand. This Hogue grip, on the other hand, has the mounting screw on the very bottom, out of the way. The instructions were lacking, and it did take me a while to figure out how the grip installs onto the frame.However, once I figured it out, it installed tightly, and seems to fit my hand well.It's sturdy, and will resist movement while using the Model N. Was ready to retire my S&W Model 28-2, the original wood grip was just no match for modern hot loads. Bought this on the suggestion of a shooting buddy. Installed in just a few minutes with just a screw driver. Fits like a glove, feels like a natural extension of my hand. Totally changed the shooting experience for the better. A great set of grips.

Helps with trigger guard bruising. I use this on a Smith and Wesson N frame revolver. The recoil from the large caliber rounds was driving the trigger guard into my knuckles. This grip design prevents that, making shooting much more pleasant.

Bought for a back country bear pistol. Originally purchased the wrong one (N Frame round when I needed SQUARE!) my own fault and dumb mistake. Because I bought the right one this time the install was much easier though still a bit....wonky. It's not hard just unconventional and really helps if you can place the pistol in a vice - not required but helpful. Don't be like me - pull your old grips off if you need to and confirm round versus square butt because I can tell you that no matter how much effort, tweaking, twisting, etc. the round WILL NOT fit over the square. :)
