High Society - Soundtrack

I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS CD.I HAD THIS ALBUM IN THE SIXTIES-VINYL- WHICHSOUNDED MUCH BETTER WITHOUT MUCHDIALOQUE FROM THE FILM.

If you loved the original LP, as I do, don’t buy this CD. It should state that the song versions are from the film, complete with intrusive dialogue. Deeply disappointed

HIGH SOCIETY was my first encounter with both SINATRA and CROSBY,so naturally this cd means a lot to me.We have all the songs that were on the original CAPITOL lp of 1956, plus a few comments by GRACE KELLY,BING CROSBY and FRANK SINATRA and studio versions of a few songs.There is a nice booklet inside with pictures and text.I am very happy to have this cd in my collection.Beware of cheap editions(HALLMARK is one of those) of classic soundtracks.It may be more expensive,but BLUE MOON RECORDS does it right.They care about disc collectors.

Love it! I am playing it over and over in my car and I know almost all the songs by heart. The personal comments by Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Grace Kelly (she's so self-deprecating) make it special. The sound track is right from the movie including some dialogue. Louis Armstrong is fabulous too.

Ich habe die LP und bin überrascht, denn auf dieser CD ist noch mehr zu hören. Kleine Szenen aus dem Film sowie Satchmos unvergleichliche Stimme.

Great soundtrack!

Alle mal herhören, das ist die ultimative Hochzeits-CD. Louis hätte ich auch gerne dabei gehabt, aber ich lebe nicht in der High-Society. Film und Soundtrack sind Weltklasse, zwischen Jazz, Swing und einfach sinatra-Feeling. Diese CD bietet 5 Bonus-Tracks, die ich nicht benötige. Highlights sind zweifelsohne Now you has Jazz und der High Society Calypso sowie das die wunderschöne Overture hierzu. Jeder, der sich nur annähernd für das Thema Jazz interessiert sollte m.E. nach einmal den Film gesehen haben, klar, er ist stark im Unterhaltungssektor angesiedelt und lange nicht so anspruchsvoll wie "Bird" oder "Um Mitternacht", aber die Mischung macht es hier und die ist astrein! Kaufen, wer nur schnuppern will, kann sich die günstigere Ausgabe von Delta Music holen, ist auchn icht verkehrt und enthält auch die wesentlichen Titel.

This is a truly classic sound track recording. First of all, I suppose it's because I can remember when all the actors and actresses were still alive. Most of the music on this album is quite good, but to me there are three real standouts, and they are "Who Wants to be a Millionare?", sung by Frank Sinatra and Celeste Holm, then "Now You Has Jazz" with Bing Crosby and Louis Armstrong, and then "Well, Did You Evah!" by Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra. These three stand out as my favorites, because two are hilarious and the third has "Satchmo"! It was a great movie and this is a great sound track recording.

I use to listen to this on my parents LP when I was growing up, then later got the Capitol CD version, but I like this the most! The quality is quite good, and though we hear dialogue from the film throughout, it enhances the experience for me! The orchestrations of Cole Porter's music by Johnny Green and the M-G-M studio orchestra are lush and beautiful. Grace Kelly introduces the score and in bonus tracks we hear from Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra as well. We also get to hear the complete Overture, as well as the Main Title and End Title that were missing on the other versions.Listening to this puts a big smile on my face!

I remember seeing this movie back in the 50's and love it. I was and still am a big Frank Sinatra fan.Friends of mine use to have the LP and I would play it all the time at their house. They finally gave to me,and I still have it. I also have a copy of the movie. When this oportunity came along to accquire the CD,I couldn't pass it up and I'm glad I didn't. I've use this source before and continue to be pleased with the results.I was very well satisfied and will use them again when the need arises. Robert J. Horan

Quality CD. Delivered early. Best packaging I have ever received.

The sound quality of the recordings were great (also the bonus features).There are no negative points to be made..The blu ray of this movie was purchased a month past and this is a nice companion.Thank you again for your fast service.

Great songs even though Kelly csnnot sing

I bought this CD for the music as I play the movie DVD quite often but I could do without the interviews.

Simply listen to Mr. Bing Crosby & Mr. Louie Armstrong's "Now You Has Jazz" and you will be hooked! It's a fun movie (and a CLASSIC) and fantastic music.
