Tracy Lord is getting married the only thing is the wedding is happening at her family home and her ex-husband lives right next door and he does everything he can to make her fall back in love with him. Featuring a Cole Porter score and classic songs, Who wants to be a millionaire?, Well did you evah? As well as a guest appearance by Louis Armstrong this is a wonderful light musical that will cheer you up on a dreary rainy day. Starring Bing Crosby, Grace Kelly, Frank Sinatra and Celeste Holm. This musical has lots of singing, dancing and toe tapping tunes that will stick in your head long after the film is over.

Listening to my 90 year Mother singing along with every word even though she has Dementia and can't remember anything recent. Wonderful.

Film shows it's age. Still, Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra made it worthwhile to watch

Played on a Blu-Ray player with upscalling and a 55 inch super High Definition TV this film is outstanding in both vision and sound quality and doe,s not give it,s age away, the print is also in the correct format so there is no distortion of the actors figures. Next to the film TO Catch A Thief this in my opinion is Grace Kelly,s best.Bing Crosby,s real life infatuation with Grace Kelly comes across in this film, Crosby had a disastrous marriage and was very unhappy in it and looked to Grace Kelly for comfort, this she returned to a limited degree but turned down his marriage proposals. For those interested in finding out more about this I can refer you to GRACE KELLY HER LIFE AND LOVES BY JANE ELLEN WAYNE ALSO AVAILABLE ON THE AMAZON SITE just one of many books on the subject. The more I learn about Film Stars life's the more I realize that their wealth and fame brought them little comfort, see my reviews relating to Grace Kelly and her royal marriage.

Not quite as good as the original version but a real treat none-the-less. The beautiful singing voices of Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra are a delight and Grace Kelly is perfect as Tracy Lord, the wilful, proud and haughty socialite. If I hadn't already seen The Philadelphia Story this probably would have got five stars, but I can't help comparing the two versions and this one just isn't quite up to that standard. Definitely worth watching, though!

This is the very best Hollywood retro movie from a bygone era the performance of Grace Kelly is remarkable captivating amazing line up of actors the portrayal of the story line is easeful and very enjoyable excellent choice

This is a musical remake of The Philadelphia Story. It stars Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and, of course, Grace Kelly providing the glamour. It follows the original film storyline with the addition of several classic songs. Highly recommended.

Bought as a replacement for a worn out video. I love this film. The comedy and the songs are fabulous. One of my favourite musicals.
