Great product
Works great. Strong magnet.

Does the job
I bought this to use with my Anytone AT-D578UV III Pro III. The magnet is strong. Went through an auto car wash and stayed put didn’t move at all. Very durable and thick rubber on base to protect paint.

Magnetic mount for NMO based antennas
The mount is used with a dual-band (VHF/UHF) public safety radio antenna on a vehicle that does not have a permanently mounted radio in it. It works well and hold the antenna even at road speeds up to 80 MPH.

Good magnet, too small please read below
The magnet is strong for this size. The treads and NMO are fine. Tram has great coax cable with low loss and flexible. No problems with those. Now the issue: When you calculate the capacitance between the foil on the bottom of the magnet and the roof of your car you'll find that it comes out to about 10 ohms reactive at 146MHz and 3 ohms reactive at 445MHz. The former will change the tuning of your 2m antenna. The later is not bad...but....the dimensions of the metal frame above the magnet is not far from 1/2 wave in circumference at 445MHz and about 1/4 wave from center radially out to the bottom of the magnet. The result is that VSWR will vary a lot across the 70cm band and may or may not be good in band. My advice: go with the 5 inch model even if you don't need that size for the antenna you'll put on it. I'm using the 5 inch model for the 70cm band with a Tram 1/4 wave whip and the VSWR is 1:1 and flat across the entire band as it should be for a simple 1/4 wave antenna. Oh yes, the 5 inch model has a really nice rubber base that the 3-1/4 inch model does not have.

perefect base mount
i was at a ham-fest and found three MNO mount antennas, so naturally an exactly fitting base was the next on the addenda. These are fast on and fast off mounts, you just unscrew it.

Great for the price, high quality and performance!
I was still able to it repeaters 40 to 60 miles away using this in my truck. Now I can go through drive through fast food and car washes with out have to climb out and take down a larger antenna. You will lose some RX & TX in hilly locations. But around town with in good LOS of the repeaters, not an issue.
