No it replaces the FRV100 flow regulator which is on top of the MX8 cleaner.

Excellent Replacement for Expensive Original Equipment

This flow regulator valve works the same as the original equipment. The OE cracked and fell apart. Bought this for much less than the OE in the pool store and I’ve used it without problems for a few months. Note: like the OE, it is difficult to attach and remove from the cleaner (tight fit). I just leave it on the cleaner and easily twist the hose on and off this piece.
