A single zippered section and no outer pockets. And all the slots for the cards are in one section that opens flat. I got tired of wallets that I would have to fiddle with to find the right section and then find the side with the card I was looking for. The zipper appears really sturdy too. I wanted a red one because it is easier to spot in a purse . I am pleased with the color. The slots work perfectly for me. None of them are loose, so I don't have to worry if I drop the wallet when it is unzipped that cards will fall out. If you do find you have a card that is a fraction too big for the slot or hard to get out, you might try putting it in sideways, so only half of it is in the slot and the other half sticks up and is easy to pull out.
