The battery status on my Macbook Pro 17" (bought early 2009) indicated it needed servicing, it reached a point where the laptop was hardly giving me 30 mins on battery. Apple didn't seem to sell these anymore so I thought I would give a try with an Amazon seller. I was pleased with receiving the battery in less than 24h (using Amazon locker). The battery looked in good condition, it fitted nicely, no issue with cabling and although I already had screw drivers somewhere at home I thought having them handy was a bonus. In terms of usage, so far so good. I noticed the battery wattage is slightly lower than the original Apple battery (80wh vs 95wh) so I pushed it hard: it still worked fine and gave me a good running time.

It works, but it lasts just 1/2 hours. A problem of Kernel Task consuming memory disappeared for a while after replacement. But it is now here again (probably unrelated to battery replacement at all).

Useless. Don't bother.
Don't waste your time and money. I have a Mid-2010 17 inches MBP and the original battery now stores about 45% of the original charging capacity ~6500mAh. On that I can get between 2-3 hours of use of the laptop. This new battery came labeled as a 13000mAh (advertised by Amazon as 10800mAh) and when I plugged it in and checked with coconutBattery it seemed to be good for that) but the battery wouldn't last 2 hours from fully charged. I got between 1:30 and 1:45 hours off of a full charge.24 hours after installing the battery on the laptop, coconutBattery was indicating that it had lost already 5% of its designed capacity, allowing a maximum charge of less than 12500mAh.I unplugged the battery now and returned to Amazon. Complete waste of time.

Great battery
I bought a cheaper battery that had a higher capacity but it would not even charge, I had it replaced and the replacement was the same.I then bit the bullet and bought this more expensive battery as recommended by a friend and it has worked perfectly, 8 plus hours of battery life under mac os. Recommended.

Good value for money
Good value for money, easy to install. Lasted me for 18 months, before it asked for battery revision.

Worked nicely for my mid 2009 17" Macbook pro, easy to install etc. It kept its charge for the first couple months but now (8 months since I bought it) it only lasts about an hour, it that.

Worked well, until it didn't.
So almost 1 year on, it's entirely dead, and a new one is going to be purchased. It was purchased 16 months ago, but only fitted to the laptop just under 1 year ago.
