Tried all the codes in the book for Hitachi but could switch it on and off but nothing else. I tried the 2nd method listed which goes through every code in the remote and hopefully you get to the one that operates your TV. That didn't work either. There's a 3rd method where you can copy the individual code for each button from another handset. Not much good if the handset you're trying to replace is dead. Fortunately for us we have another Hitachi set in one of the bedrooms and it has an identical remote to the dead one. My wife was fetching it up and down the stairs to use on both sets.So I tried the 3rd method and went through each button to try and copy it onto this one.Success! It now fully operates the TV, and a lot more responsive than the original handset.I think that the codes didn't work on our set because of it's age, but if you have a newer one you may have more success.
