My multimeter says this meets its rated spec. My wallet says this is MUCH cheaper than an after hours service call.Replacing a capacitor on most AC units really isn't difficult if you are savvy enough to know how to safely disconnect the power (any unit installed to any modern code will have a disconnect mere feet away) and turn a screwdriver. A new cap will solve many common AC problems that would leave you and your family otherwise stuck in the heat.I'm not sure how long this thing will last compared to a "good" one but I do know that 15 bucks shipped to my door is ridiculously cheap. Even if I only get a couple of years out of it, I'm ahead. It's so cheap that there just isn't a good reason to not buy 2 of them and keep a spare on the shelf. ALL capacitors are wear items. They ALL die eventually and they are guaranteed to do it at the worst possible time. $15 is the cheapest insurance against wife aggro that you'll ever buy.

Just be cautious when you check the measurements of the current capacitor to compare with this one. This is smaller than the capacitor I replaced, BUT it is the SAME PART NUMBER. Works... so far 4 weeks without issues.

Hubby called his HVAC brother and he said that if he comes out to fix our A/C unit, it would cost $260. Then he told us to go on Amazon and buy this capacitor ($12.86). We ordered it this morning 930am, and it was delivered just now (7:30pm) same day. It took 5 minutes for my husband to install and just like that AIR CONDITIONING up and running! That's how we do!
