Corrected my over corrected foot/tendon injury
In the last 6 months, I started running again after years hiatus. Well after I decided to get back into the game, I picked up a pair of Brooks GTS XXs and ran a 5k in them. Oh my stars, I was so wrong for doing that. I do not pronate, the GTS 20 series shoes have "rails" to help correct pronation, which was bad for me. Long story short, I knew something was wrong at 2 miles, at 4 miles I could only walk, after the race I was gimping about like a cripple. Why am I telling you this? Well, I had a goal to see though and now some rehabilitation. So I'm a very static foot striker - no over/under pronation and I needed something with some support that wouldn't kill my feet. A friend suggested the XA's and I gave them a shot. Oh my, I should have bought these in the first place! They feel wonderful without a footsole, the helped me work though my injuries and now a month later I'm running in them. Yes they are heavier, but when I can do my run, then take a walk with my pregnant wife without dying, I call it a win!In short, if you want to well built shoes that offer support for non - supination/pronation folk like me - the XA Pro 3Ds are amazing! Heads up, the toe box is narrow, I'm on the border and slightly wish I went with the wide variant.

They're back the way the should be
I have owned Salomon XA Pro 3D shoes for decades. The very first time I put them on it seemed like they were custom made for my feet. A customer service representative I called during my third pair told me that customers kept telling Salomon not to change the shoes as they were perfect. And then they changed them. Salomon went to a narrower last. As a store salesperson said when I was trying to find ones that fit, "They ruined perfection." The problem is, I received a discount from Salomon for another reason and purchased three pairs of their various shoes during the time of ruined perfection. None of them were "right" and I couldn't determine why until two years later when I heard of the changed last. Thankfully, Salomon has corrected that stupidity and the shoes are once again spectacular. The only issue you will encounter is that these need to be broken in. It's and easy process. Wear them for three to six hours or until your feet tell you the shoes need to come off. Put them aside so your feet have some time to recover. Put the shoes on a couple days later and you should be good to go.

I wear these daily - 4th or 5th Pair of Solomons
My feet have been my weakest link since I was a child. I wore corrective shoes for about 5 years to develop an arch. I can't stand for very long in most shoes without a lot of pain. I can wear these all day, day after day. I've tried other brands but they don't provide the stability and comfort that I need.I've tried several similar models from Solomon./ They all have been exceptionally well made and provided the same level of performance. I am done trying other brands. I order a 10.5 Wide. In most shoes I would probably wear a 10 wide.

High performance, low life
This is a popular shoe where I live. I’ve had a couple pairs now and the fit is exceptional. I really like them. The color offerings are nice. The lacing system is practically flawless. The breathability is just right. Durability is a major issue. Considering the price this model sells for the shoes should last two times as long. The uppers characteristically rip in the same areas in a relatively short period of time. The soles wear incredibly fast even in almost exclusive dirt trail use. Irregardless of the price however, the shoes should last longer. I suggest using a higher quality mesh upper and a harder rubber for the sole; the heel cup, tongue, and lacing system are great as is. If Salomon were to offer both a harder rubber and a softer rubber on the sole as options, most customers would choose the harder rubber. Unless you’re rock climbing no one needs or wants a fast wearing soft-soled shoe for “gripping performance”, that’s a lame excuse for inbuilt obsolency. It’s irresponsible to the entire eco system to put out products with an unnecessarily short service life. I would purchase more of these shoes, that is until I become aware of a more righteous option.

12EE about the same as a 13 standard width in Nike/New Balance/Asics
I usually wear a 13EE in most running shoes. I found the 12EE size of the Solomon’s to be about the Same a a standard width 13 in most running shoes, with a slightly smaller toe box, but the stiffness of the sole and side of the shoe keep my wide foot from hanging over the outside edge so they are usable. Other than that they are very good supportive off road running shoes. I would suggest that most people who wear a larger size get the wide version

Best all-around activity issue. I’ve tried in 40 years.
From about the age 20 to 50, I was a hard training endurance athlete. About 50 or so, I change my routine to trail running and sprinting instead of long distance running. I have to say, this is the best all-around shoe I think I’ve had. Period.Really very comfortable and the insole is unique in a way. It’s like memory foam, but not too squishy. It’s firm but has a perfect kind of, flexibility, and cushion. The toebox is perfect and just bought another pair for back up. Highly recommended.Oh. The lacing system. At first, didn’t quite get it for a minute. But it’s outstanding. It’s like a drawstring that you can pull up tight and a small plastic piece slides down over the tongue for a firm grip. Really very well thought out.
