I really enjoyed reading this- it’s obviously really thoroughly researched and I found out many interesting facts about what happened during the war in my area. Some very sad stories but ones I’m glad I know about, plus a reminder of just how strong human resilience and spirit can be.

I enjoyed reading this book & found it very interesting. It provides a good insight into wartime Britain especially for residents of Sutton Coldfield/Birmingham. Focusing on the volunteers of the Home Guard . I learned a lot about what happened during the war in my local area
