These glasses are just beautiful. While they're specifically designed for sauvignon blancs
I owned these glasses overseas, and have just moved to the UK and they were one of the first things I had to buy again! These glasses are just beautiful. While they're specifically designed for sauvignon blancs, I use these for all white wines and they're just a delight to use. It's amazing what a difference good glassware makes to the aromas and flavours of a wine - even just a cheapie! While the crystal is thin, I've never broken or chipped Riedel glasses after 3 years, while I manage to regularly break cheaper glass brands. They're dishwasher safe too. Just do it.

Excellent glasses, a must for any Bordeaux lover
These glasses are a must for fans of claret. It's important to point out that these glasses are specifically designed for claret, Riedel do countless other varieties of glasses to suit all different types of wine. All Riedel glasses are shaped in such a way that the wine is delivered to the right part of the mouth for optimum taste. The glasses are really nice and large and very thin which is really good for getting air to the wine and you can see the wine clearly. Only downside is that they are easy to break (and costly to replace when you do break them!). I've managed to break one just washing it in the past.Highly recommended though, in my opinion the best glasses you can buy.

The best!
Although Riedel glasses are not cheap they outclass all other wine glasses I have bought. Their design is perfectly suited to give the best possible bouquet and taste from the wine. The glass is very fine and light and the glasses are well-balanced, nice to hold; the wine looks good.Whilst I would recommend any Riedel glasses I have not chosen to buy different glasses to suit different wines, settling for champagne flutes, white wine and large red wine glasses. There may be some advantage to the connoisseur in having a wider range of glasses but I find those I have serve me very well.Highly recommended.

Smaller than envisaged
For my money, Riedel make the best wine glasses. They are not cheap, but for glasses matched to a particular wine I guess they are reasonable. Someone else remarked on the wide base of this glass and, yes, it does look a bit out of proportion but it's purpose is to give stability to the small-ish nature of the bowl I think. Riedel do a slightly bigger sauvignon blanc glass, which I think I will try once I've managed to break these.

Totally dishwasher-proof
We were given four of these as a present a dozen years ago. Thy're the perfect size and shape for a general-purpose wine glass and use them every day of the week. We now have seven of them and have broken a few over the years, always replacing them with the same thing. For me the biggest upside is that you can put them through the dishwasher five hundred times and they don't go cloudy. Brilliant!

Great glasses although a little pricey
I bought a pair of Riedel glasses and Im really impressed with them. They look sheer class and are robust enough for the dishwasher. Because of the high price however, ive decided not to buy more of them for guests and instead im going to buy some similar ones. Riedel should offer a four or six pack at a better value price.

Superior glasses for great price
Love these glasses. If you are a wine lover they are the glasses for you. Very thin but high quality that enhances the wine experience. Also got them at a super price, almost half price than in some UK shops and they arrived in tact in within 3 days of order from Germany. I was a little worried but it was fine and would get them from here again. They are also the genuine article.

Fantastic quality glassware
Riedel offers the best wine glassware on the market with designs suited to different wines. The glassware is elegant, light and strong. I wouldn't wish to drink wine out of anything else!

Gorgeous, elegant, classy
These are beautiful and a joy to sip from, also merely to hold in the hand. They seem to have the perfect shape for a variety of wines and I've happily had champagne from them as well. They are more petite than the popular larger sizes for Chardonnays and Pinot noir, yet lovely for all uses. The shape, grace, weight, and feel of these truly sets them apart. Exquisite.

Amazon refuses to pack glassware safely. I don't recommend buying this online.
The glasses themselves are quality; lightweight but reasonably durable considering their delicacy. This is a popular brand well-known for their varietal specific glassware; as my space (and patience) is limited, after some research I chose this specific model as a good all-around glass for common white varietals and medium-bodied reds in a pinch. I used to work in the industry and in spite of this (or perhaps because of it) I decided life is too short to buy six different sets of glasses. I'm happy with the product performance. What I'm not happy with is Amazon's bizarre approach to packing delicate glassware; they just throw the Riedel box in a cardboard shipper with no attempt at isolation or protection, hope for the best and call it a day. One out of eight glasses arrived broken. Simply not worth the trouble to return them and either get them elsewhere or roll the dice to see if the next shipment arrived intact. So I'm eating the cost of one broken glass and cutting my losses; that said I will not be buying glassware from Amazon again.

Most cost-effective packaging of these workhorse glasses
We have been using Riedel’s Vinum Chardonnay glasses as our everyday (well, every day we drink wine that is, not literally *every* day) pick for at least 30 years now. Although we have a few of Riedel’s other varietal-matched glasses these are the ones we have chosen to buy in quantities sufficient for wine tastings or larger gatherings. IMO it is a perfect ”all-round” glass. Large enough for a good ”swirl” but small enough to go into the dishwasher (which they handle with no obvious problems). Comfortable in the hand and to the lip, elegant but understated and above all surprisingly durable. We manage to break one roughly every other year although whether they become brittle as a result of repeated trips through the dishwasher or we just have clumsy guests is anyone’s guess. Nevertheless this 8-for-6 pack is the most cost-effective way I have found to stock up on these fantastic workhorses. Recommended!
