A transformer surge 5 homes including mine. 4 out of 5 ceiling fans stopped working. It did some damage. That issue has been rectified and will not happen again.Start with the cheapest fix and now we have 2 ceiling fans working out of 5.

I bought this in January. It worked great and exactly what I was wanting to replace an older unit that couldn't handle LED lightbulbs in the fan. Since then we had seen occasionally it seemed to either turn the fan or lights on (a couple times the lights went off). But we started having issues with it turning on the lights during the night time (not great to wake up 2am with bedroom lights on full brightness). I had purchased a second one in March to put into another bedroom but never got around to installing it. I decided to replace the one in our bedroom with this other one last weekend (and I used this opportunity to ensure all the wire nuts were on secured) but just last night this second controller turned the lights on at 1:15am. So I know it's way too late to return them, so I'm going to have to shop for a different one to replace these. So be aware that it might turn on the lights when you don't want them to go on!

I either missed the part in the product description that said it needs to be powered by 110 volts or it didn’t say it, either way, it needs a 110 v power source. So if you’re looking for a battery powered remote this isn’t the one for you!
