SD106 Space Dryer, 20 Cubic Feet

Good value and works great. Keeps the inside of the cabinet dry.

I bought two of the sd106 h2out units, one for each of our small chest freezers. They work and work well. I am on the second recharge for one freezer, as it had a lot of ice build-up. No more defrosting those freezers. I am purchasing some for the boat!

I ran a test with this product. I took the humidity reading before using sing the device and two days later. Humidity went from 60 to 40 percent. This definitely works.

I began having a mildew problem, so I needed something to protect my clothes and shoes. This tends to be a problem in Florida. I have only been using the product for a short time, but it seems to be working.

This size H2OUT does not do 170 cubic feet - it does an area of 2'x2'x5' or 20 cubic feet according to the label on the cylinder. I was disappointed to see that it cannot be reactivated in a gas oven. I bought it for my boat and the oven on it is gas. Have sent an email to the manufacturer to find out why but have not received a response yet. Do not have a valid test for its performance yet as my boat refrig had a poor seal and had to correct that first.

As advertised in Practical Sailor magazine, these American-made canisters can be re-cycled by putting them in the oven to dry. Lasts about a month on my boat before turning pink - indicating another trip to the oven. Great idea and a lot less messy than the packets of crystals that can spill when the water collects.

This device has dramatically reduced the moisture in our refrigerator, which is why we bought it. We'll know more in a few weeks when it would normally be time to defrost again.
