Great for my videography
So I recently got into videography earlier this year. I wanted to start a youtube or something similar, just creating small short films and whatever. I shoot on a Sony A6400 (kind of a dinosaur by now) and the battery life on that thing when filming is maybe an hour or two, depending on the size of the flicks. The Smallrig battery extends that by so much. On a full charge I was able to film for around 4 hours, dropping the life down to only 67% (not including the camera's leftover battery). Now, I'm only charging the camera itself when filming, so I can't attest for multiple ports being used, but this works incredibly well for me. If you want to save some weight and don't want to use a dedicated battery on a field monitor then this should work perfectly for you - assuming you're not shooting 10 hour days. Now, for ease of use, you do have to get the slider bracket and 15mm rods and blah blah blah, which sets you back another $100 or so OR you can just put the battery in your pocket or bag and string a long micro USB or USB-C cord to it and will do just fine. Super easy to use, literally just plug and play. In conclusion, if you're just filming small stuff as a hobby, I'd personally save some money and just grab some extra batteries for your camera but if you're really getting into filming and wanting to get more serious about it, I would totally recommend this piece.

Fantastic Customer Service!
I have been a dedicated user of SmallRig products for my video production company, and I recently had the opportunity to experience their exceptional customer service firsthand. While using the SmallRig Battery VB99, I encountered an issue where one battery stopped holding a charge, and the other charged slowly. As a professional relying on reliable equipment, this was a concern for my workflow. However, I reached out to SmallRig's customer service (Alex was a big help) and was pleasantly surprised by their swift and efficient response. They acknowledged my issue and promptly overnighted me two brand-new batteries as replacements. This level of support and dedication to their customers is truly commendable. Despite this isolated incident, I must emphasize that I remain a big fan of SmallRig and its products. Their extensive range of camera accessories has become an integral part of my professional setup. In terms of build quality, design, and functionality, SmallRig consistently delivers outstanding performance. It's important to note that encountering occasional issues is common with any product, but how the company handles them sets them apart. SmallRig's commitment to customer satisfaction and its willingness to go above and beyond to support small businesses like mine has earned my unwavering loyalty. I have complete confidence in SmallRig and its dedication to producing high-quality products. The SmallRig Battery VB99, despite the hiccup I faced, remains a valuable addition to my gear collection. I appreciate their exceptional customer service, reinforcing my decision to support SmallRig in the future. Overall, I highly recommend SmallRig to professionals and enthusiasts needing reliable camera accessories. With their top-notch customer service and a wide range of exceptional products, SmallRig has proven to be a reliable partner for my video production needs.

Great battery but the LCD/LED screen is unusable can't see anything on it outdoors in the daytime
Love the design and look of this battery. Lasts 4 and a half hours powering my camera and Monitor shooting in 4K 60FPS. It does not get hot and charges faster than I could have ever thought. The only criticism that I have with this battery, is the screen. I shoot outside in Bright daylight most of the time and the screen with the battery percentage is unusable, even If I cup my hands around it, I can't see anything.

A lot of capacity
A lot of capacity, using it with a Small Rig battery adapter to power camera & Atomos Ninja I run out of disk space before I run out of battery. Plenty of ports and options. Its not light.

**SEE NEW UPDATE BELOW** Original: Barely used this for 3 months, D-Tap socket pulled out
**UPDATE MAY-31-2023** The same day I posted my original review complaining that the D-Tap socket pulled out, they contacted me directly and even though the old unit technically still functioned (despite being broken), they sent me a whole NEW battery of the exact same type for FREE and even paid for express shipping so that I would have it the next morning. Ive honestly treated this new battery harsher than the original one by far and it has held up fine. I definitely just had a defective unit. If you also have a defective one of any of their products, just reach out to them through here and they will definitely make it right. I have honestly never been the recipient of better customer service in my life. Big Smallrig fan from here on out. ----- Original Review (March, 2023): I'm not rough with my camera equipment. If anything I'm too careful with it. I charge everything religiously. This thing barely ever needs charging, after a full day of shooting it has never dropped below 65% and that's from 100%, powering a Sony a7siii, Atomos Ninja V, a Ulanzi LED, and a Tascam DR-701D Audio Recorder all at once the entire time. It's speak, lightweight, the interface is crisp and detailed/informative, and the hardware feels very solid. Until it isn't. I never yanked out any D-Tap cables or jerked thing around, but one day last week just calmly removing a D-Tap (in this case the locking D-Tap for the Atomos Ninja V), the entire female socket inside the Sony 99 just sorta.. slipped out of the body of the battery. Theres no discernable way to open the battery to fix it, and I've repaired plenty of laptops so this type of thing isn't very foreign to me. Just not sure how to go about dealing with this now as the D-Tap was pretty vital to my work flow. I could "make do" but for this price, we aren't supposed to have to. Hopefully I can get a refund or at least have it replaced, but I'm not counting on it. Looks like I'll be going back to Anton Bauer's.

Great product! Great customer service!
Smallrig has the best customer service! After writing a bad review on this product that had some issues, they were kind enough to reach out to me and help resolve my problem! old review: NOT HAPPY WITH THIS PRODUCT. I have this battery along with Smallrigs Vmount battery plate. When I attach the V99 battery to any vmount. I noticed I am able to wiggle it apart/off. BEWARE the vmount is not secure, I already dropped my battery from resting my rig against my chest. So I sandwiched an extra plate that comes with the Smallrig Vmount plate and seems to be secure but is only held with one 1/4โ-20 screw. These are both Smallrig products, Iโm not understanding why I need to install a second plate for it to work, for such an expensive item and all the advertising they have with the two, you would think they are compatible together. Just waiting on smallrigs response for me to update.

Good product
Needed a 50w vmount for my car rig, fits perfectly and is light compared to my 99w and 150w V-mounts, works as advertised and great for a smaller form factor that requires a vmount

So good, the best v mount solution out right now
This is an amazing battery. It is intuitive to use, it gives you wattages, it is small and dense which means it takes up less space for the same battery life. All the Vmounts I have used previously needed their own v mount charger. this just takes USBC which is something that i did not expect I would love as much as I did. the usbC port makes this battery double as a large capacity powerbank and that has been so useful in shoots where I might need to edit on set and i can have the confidence that it can charge my laptop as well in a pinch. it displays its battery and you can charge the battery pack from usbc while supplying power to the rest of your gear which means that if you connect up everything and your powerbank is running out of battery, you can essentially use this battery pack as a mains power adapter while running a monitor, wireless follow focus, transmitter all off the same device. an intersting really small note, it seems to not fully stand up flat, if you put it on the table and push it, it rocks a little bit, so the bottom is not completely flat. just a strange design (could also be that the battery is expanding but i find it unlikely)
