Comfortable and keeps everything secure.
My son in 10U baseball switched from wearing a cup in protective shorts to this jockstrap and noticed a difference right away, in a good way. He’s usually wears a YM and he says this fits way better and is a lot more comfortable than the old shorts he wore. He really puts it to the test too, since he plays catcher, pitcher, and utility. He catches a lot, basically any game he’s not pitching, so there’s plenty of squatting, running, and sliding. When he’s squatting as a catcher, this jockstrap keeps the cup exactly where it’s supposed to be and doesn’t let the cup point up and out. That matters, because it helps avoid that lovely little window where a bad bounce could come up and nail him right in the jiblets. Even when he is pitching and swinging his legs all around, he says this is way more comfortable and keeps everything secure and in place no matter where he’s playing. He’s used it through 30+ practices and games so far, and it’s holding up nicely. He’s had absolutely zero complaints. It’s also easy to put the cup in and take it out, and easy to machine wash.

Secure AND comfortable
Bought these for my sons (age 13 and 8) for baseball and by far these are the best we’ve used. Initially we tried the boxer brief type shorts with pocket for the cup, and then the jock strap with cup built in (non-removable). The shorts with cup pockets are useless as the cup just floats around suspended in air in that general region and ends up hurting their thighs when running, or pinching their goods. The jock strap with non removable cup is okay, but wears out the fabric around the edges of the cup really quickly and the cup size is set based on the waist size. My 13 year old size men’s large son doesn’t need a men’s large cup... These jock straps stay in place extremely well and hold the cup right where it needs to be with no discomfort (my 8 year old has even slept in his...) and we love the pocket allowing for the cup to be moved from one strap to the next during busy weeks, and allowing us to choose the cup size. The waist bands are quite snug, so if you are between sizes you probably want to go with the size up. We have 4 of these and will definitely be back for more.

Works for my son
Exactly what my son needed for sparring in karate. Easy to put on & take off, breathable, easy to clean, discrete and according to my son, very comfortable, no pinching.

Order 2 sizes up, but otherwise great
Order at least 2 sizes up. I ordered an XL and will be buying a second in at least a 2XL, because the straps dig into my hips very tightly. BUT--great support, and the pocket is perfect for a packer if you're trans masc. No more dick falling on the bathroom floor when I pull my pants down. Will also be great for swimming!

Sizing is unclear to those of us that don't wear these, but otherwise good
My son says this fits good and stays in place while he is catching. My only issue is that it is not very clear on sizing, so just for those like me that didn't know what size to order: they are sized like pants. My son wears size 10/12 or YL pants, so I got a large and it was the correct size, so order the size pants your son wears.

Big Bag of Meh
Hey Fellow Amazonians! Uhhhg! I like older Shock Doctor stuff and hoped these would be comparable. They somewhat are but, leave a lot to be desired. The cup pocket has no clasping mechanism. It causes the cup to rise and you end up with the top of your cup poking out of the cover. That causes the bottom, where the two straps connect, to have a gap of about 1-1.5 Inches. The gap negates the leg straps from working which causes the cup to rise about 1-1.5 inches. Add to that, the straps are TOO LONG, your cup rises further. The side-to-side movement is manageable due to the thicker waistband. If this jockstrap had a velcro clasp holding the cup pocket closed, I think it would be much better. Also, don't try to use this jockstrap without the cup. It's utterly worthless and doesn't cover or support the "goods".

Keeps your bits safe and secure.
DO YOU NEED to keep your bits tucked in while you're exercising? DO YOU WANT to be able to take brutal blows to your crotch area? OR DO YOU JUST LIKE to look like a member of Spinal Tap when walking through airport security? If you answered "yes" to two or more of these questions, then the Shock Doctor with cup pocket is the jock for you! (If you don't want to take brutal blows, maybe the one WITHOUT the cup pocket, also available here on Amazon, is a better choice...) In all seriousness though: ABOUT ME: 40yo male, hit the gym several times a week trying to lose this middle aged spread. Also avid martial artist training at the dojo for a couple hours 3-4x per week. 2 of those sessions involve contact, so I need the cup. MORE ABOUT ME: I've got large thighs but a small bottom (relatively speaking). This means I have to search far and wide for pants that fit (often settling for a waist size larger than necessary, and enduring baggy butt syndrome) properly. I tend to wear size "L" underwear and deal with the snug leg holes. But I can't fudge things when it comes time for athletic support/protection. I have tried compression shorts - the cup pocket is NEVER in the right place - and athletic briefs (kind of feel weird). I prefer a jock. PROS: 1. It fits properly (XL does a great job for me with my weird body shape). 2. Keeps the bits protected properly (when combined with a cup, NOT included). 3. Nice soft crotch area. 4. Protective triangle-shaped cup holder. (I very much prefer the triangular cup, although it was an adjustment at first!) CONS: 1. I wore the last one out in about 18 months... so that might be a minor con, but see my above activity statement. We're talking probably 100 washes and 1000 hours of wear... that's not bad. 2. It's basic. This is the mid-range jock from Shock Doctor. It's also around 50% of the expense of the pricey one. It is boring and white and has big ol' seams and stitching. If you want to look pretty OUT of your athletic pants, you might want to step up. Overall, I'll keep buying this as long as they keep making it like this!

As expected
It holds the cup. It's comfortable. It works. Not much else needs to be said.

It is not true to size; some discomfort
Despite the fact that I purchased the correct size, the size of the cup is slightly small. It is not comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Tiefschutz
Gute Passform, aber für Handballtorhüter nicht unbedingt empfehlenswert da die Gummis sehr schnell reißen. Ansonsten guter Schutz.

Comfortable & quality
Super comfortable. Really happy with the cup version and this is similar. It is a pretty snug fit and not exactly as their sizing chart so consider buying the next size up
