Works as described. Hard to open, but I guess that's good to protect the drive. I love the "C" type connector for both ends of the cable. Just like other enclosures for this price, I wish they had an "On / Off" switch. Lastly, my grand daughter was happy with it; and that was the important point for me.

Sometimes you need to unplug and plug it back for this to work, but when it works is very good

Update!!11-11-22One of these wo t even mou t the drive anymore ! Drive letter is correct and it was working. I’ve tried several different USB ports on my Mac and windows, and the hard drive is formatted as X fans which should mount on both platforms and has perfectly for the last two days since I received the product brand new, but one of them has died. I even tried a different cable on that did not work. These must have really crappy hard drive controllers in them. Preparing it for a refund now. Stay far away is things feel cheap and they are very cheap both figuratively and physically. They are brittle crappy little plastic hard drive enclosure that I am simply not going to trust my data with whatsoever and this is why. Two days later and one is already dead.They feel cheap! I got two white ones and they're pretty flimsy feeling but i they hold up then that's all I care about. Will update post but so far so good and getting great (normal) transfer speeds using USB C so, so far so good.

Honestly, these work great. The plastic feels a little cheap, but this isn't an expensive solution. USB C cable is nice.

I ordered 6 of these enclosures, of which 3 were in White (25PW1C-C3-WH).1 of 3 White units did not work (the enclosure light came on, but the drive could not be read by the computer). The problem persisted with a different hard drive, different cable, and when connected to a different computer.Amazon was quick in arranging return & replacement -- BUT the replacement unit that I got (another White unit, 25PW1C-C3-WH) had the exactly same problem, and had to be returned. This was a troubling ratio (e.g., 2 defective units out of 7 in total; 2 out of 4 White units defective....)Maybe I was unlucky & got a bad batch . . . The other enclosure units (in Black) work fine; they are fast, ergonomic, and VERY cost effective. A great buy -- IF you don't get a mailfunctioning unit.

Very simple. No tools required. Works like a charm. Getting expected speeds from my SATA III ssd, about 500 mb/s. Works perfectly as my Time Machine Backup drive.

I tried several 2.5 HDDs and SSDs in these enclosures. I couldn't get any HDDs to work and was able to get a couple of SSDs to work, but not all SSDs would. I would recommend buying higher quality HDD enclosures.

Tenía un disco hdd de un portátil cambiado por un ssd y adquirí para ello esta carcasa: fácil montaje y muy buenas velocidades. Sin problemas.Lo que me parece un extra es que el cable que viene (de considerable grosor) es doble usb-c con alta velocidad de datos (evidentemente) y además sirve para usar con un cargador rápido.Si uno se pone a mirar, los cables doble usb-c para carga rápida son un timo: caros y con velocidad de datos prehistórica. Sólo algunos modelos específicos (y de precio elevado) transmiten a una velocidad igual o superior al que permite el usb 3.Así que por el mismo precio que un cable de carga rápida para móvil se tiene uno con alta velocidad (los datos entre móvil y portátil vuelan) y una carcasa ligera y de buenas prestaciones.Me ha parecido una buen producto con un precio contenido gracias al cable adjuntado.
