These socks are supremely shock absorbent, supremely comfortable and wonderfully durable. The leg stays up without being too tight, except for the doubled over layer at the top which I unfold by picking out the stitching with a seam ripper. Being wool, they do shrink. I wash in Woolite on warm with hot dry. Keeping the socks in wash bags through both wash and dry prevents the wool from being abraded during spin and tumble. For reference, I wear a men's size 8.5 boot and purchase extra large. A size large would also work but my wide forefoot wants wiggle room for the toes.

I purchased four pairs of merino wool socks from different brands so I could test them during cold weather hunts (mid teens to mid 20s°). Even though these are not over-the-calf (OTC), they are my favorite. They don’t sag down your leg, they are very warm (stand sitting), and they wick the moisture away from your feet extremely well. When you take them off, you can feel how the moisture has been pulled towards the outside. Also, the toe seams are designed correctly…meaning, there’s no bunched up material at each end of the seam that makes so many brands uncomfortable. If they had an OTC version, I’d score them with six stars. Highly recommended.

These socks are amazing. Wool socks are about the only socks I wear anymore. They feel so good on your feet. Moisture wicking, you don’t get that crew sock squeeze around your toe's and they are breathable. I’m on my feet in a warehouse everyday and since I’ve started wearing wool socks. I’m just more comfortable in my boots.

My husband really likes these socks. They don't cut off circulation and stay up well. Decent cushion on the sole and the toe seam is comfortable. They do run a bit small. I bought him a size up just in case they shrunk and they fit him well. Haven't washed them yet but don't expect them to shrink (as long as they don't sneak in to a hot wash)

Great wool socks but a tab snug. I'm glad that I found these wool socks made in USA. 83% wool,18% nylon,1% spandex. The highest % in wool I found. Very warm and soft, can't wait to use them when the snow starts fallen.

Bought them for my husband for watching outdoor hockey games. He loves that they keep his feet toasty
