So after having bought two Garmin 57 dash cams, one each fitted to my car and my wife’s I was looking for a reader compatible with my IPad Air 5th generation to enable easy viewing of footage at the high levels of resolution/clarity that the iPad screen offers. Essentially the Garmin app installed on my iPad that connects to the dash cam via Wi-Fi allows the viewing of footage but only at a relatively poor resolution and exporting images via the Garmin app is time consuming and a bit of a pain all thing’s considered. After connecting the reader into the iPad USB C port and slotting the micro SD card from the dash cam into the appropriate spot the device shows up instantly in my files folder for viewing footage and of course works great for any other general image viewing from other standard SD, MICRO and USB stick memory that I have from digital cameras and such.The reader is nicely made, very decent quality indeed and well worth the price paid I’d say. For me though it was all about finding a reader with the iPad compatibility I needed and this has come up trumps, very happy.

As a drone operator that often needs to move large files between sd cards and phone to send away , this thing has been old reliable from new . I would 100% recommend this to anyone that handles SD cards or USB drives that has the need to plug into usb c device ... even with DJI quicktransfer being an option this thing has still made itself very useful

Value to money

Compact unit for transferring files from cards, usb sticks to each other and also on to the host device. Came in handy for copying photos from my cameras to a USB stick and also to my phone whilst on holiday. So didn't need to bring a laptop.Only downsides are that 1) it's not always clear which way is the right-side up to insert the card especially on a small micro sd card and 2) it does become quite warm after a while and 3) large transfers can use up the phone battery quickly. A pass through power option would be nice to have.

This is a compact portable plug-in device which is ideal for copying images and documents/data from m'phone to pc/tablet on the go.
