Great Price. Better Engineered than the Car it was Made for...(2010-2017 Altima)
When I found out my friend had paid $80 the last time at a dealer to change out her 2010-2017 Altima's cabin air filter, I nearly choked on the water I was drinking at the time. We found this at a fraction of the price. Although the item itself doesn't come with any instructions, there are plenty of YouTube videos showing how to install the cabin air filter on a 2010 - 2017 Altima without removing the glove box compartment. That being said, Nissan needs to retrain their engineers to design better products where user serviceable filters are more easily installed. "Install" is not the right term for this. It was more like 'violently shove the cabin air filter into place' and be careful not to damage your hand. There is a tiny slot towards the engine, middle console, under the glove box side. Removal of the original air filter is difficult, if the Nissan dealership put a genuine filter in the wrong way or put one in without a 'pull tab' built into it. If it did have the pull tab, you would pull the tab with enough force to not break off the tab, but still remove the filter. In our case, there was no removal tab on the genuine Nissan filter, and it turns out the Nissan dealership for $80 violently shoved in the cabin air filter the wrong way, badly deforming the filter, and also breaking the tab to clip that held the filter cover in place. With a lot of patience with needle nose pliers and a flat head screwdriver, we were able to pry the old filter out of the slot and replace it with this item. This TYC item was very much superior to the genuine Nissan filter in very way. It has a built in pull tab, and when you fold it in the middle sort like a fan, it slips with some violence, but not as bad as the original Nissan filter was shoved in (better fit?) . As a suggestion, have compressed air or a car vacuum ready. Poor engineering of this filter and filter slot doesn't allow any foreign objects to cling to the old filter when you pull it out. There will likely be a pile of dead leaves, dust, dead bugs, rocks, etc. at the bottom of this slot.

Fits fine, You tube is a big help.
Perfect fit, luckily I looked at several YouTube vids about installing it, and found one that showed how to change it without removing the glove box etc. All the other vids said to remove the glove box. I did have lay in the seat with my head jammed up under the dash with a flashlight. Once I figured out where the latch was on the filter box door, it was a quick change. Squeezing it in the middle to make a fan shape out of it, makes real simple to feed the filter into the box. Next time will be a snap and a whole lot easier.

Good for Nissan Altima 2009 Sedan
This filter is good and cheap. That is all.I successfully installed it in my Nissan Altima 2009 Sedan with a simple step. I did not touch the glove box. I just moved the right side cover of the central part, then carefully pulled the old one out and inserted the new one. But to be noticed, as the position of the filter is difficult to touch for the beginners who do not know it before, you need to try more. For me, at first I directly opened the central cover but I did not know the exact position. So I had to open the glove box by removing all its screws (in fact there is a video in youtube showing you how to remove the crews and exchange the carbin filter and I followed it). After moving the glove box I knew the exact position. Then I recovered the glove box and in the second time, I directly installed it in 15 minutes. So if you are familiar with its position, this operation will be very easy without opening the glove box.

Easier to install than you think
Great product, great price, easy to follow instructions. Installed in 2012 Nissan Altima SL Sedan. Don't follow the internet instructions that tell you to remove the glove box; really not necessary. Took me about 15-20 minutes. I did the whole job while kneeling just outside the passenger door. Just remove the access panel in the passenger footwell by the passenger's left foot. Get a good flashlight so you can see what you're doing. Remove the vertical access door where the filter is located. It is a little fussy removing the old filter, but be patient, you will get it. When inserting the new filter, you may find it useful to squeeze it in the middle so it is shaped like a twisted hourglass. Again, be patient, you will wiggle it into place eventually. Note that the entire filter, including the border/frame, must be inside the filter door opening. Dealer wanted $50... saved $40 doing it myself.

Works great on 2012 Altima
I've been buying these cabin filters for my 2012 Nissan Altima since 2015. They work great. I know they work great because when I replace these filters annually, I see all the dirt and debree that the old ones catch prior to replacing. So they do their job well. Replacing them on a 2012 Altima on the other hand is a pain but that's not the filter's fault.

Fits a 2007 Altima 2.5S
Dealer charges $150 to replace this item... $14 on amazon. If you don't mind spending $136 on labor, go ahead and take it to the dealer. Or, buy this and slap it in there yourself. There are a ton of tutorials on youtube. It's very easy: take out the glove box (8 screws), pop off the side cap and the trim panel next to the center console lower. Reach back to almost the firewall, popout the filter cover, grab the tab on the old filter, yank it out. Open up the new filter, pinch it in the middle, and wriggle it in there. Put the cover back on, reassemble all the trim pieces. Should take about 15 minutes. The hardest part is getting the filter out and the cover back on. A+

Good buy, easy to install
Ended up being very easy to install and easier then the YouTube video for my car indicated. I took off a side console panel that I need not have. But it went in well, time will tell how effective it is. But it certainly is a big improvement over the dirty filter I removed.

Great air filter, a bit tricky to install
Great air filter for the price, the mechanic was going to charge me more than triple for a similar filter. It is a bit tricky to install though, you have to squeeze underneath the passengers seat to get it in.
