Gets the job done, and very well at that!
I am very pleased with this item. It works well, is very accurate (I measured, 1m max offset, true) and the optic is good/clear. It feels rugged but haven't mistreated it yet. The pouch is perfectly fine too.Pros:+ Affordable+ Accurate and fast (<1sec for measurement)+ Really easy to use+ Meters or yards, easy to switch+ 3 modes: normal, measure furthest away, measure closest+ Light yet feels solid+ External built quality very satisfying+ Mine actually came with a battery in it :)A few cons, but keep the price in mind, and also the fact that no false claims or promises were made- no tripod screw-in- no slope measurement, speed calculator or other options. Its a range finder, period.- Field of view is ok, but nothing more. Its adequate. Also, if you wear glasses: take them off when range finding!- focus on back lens isn't the easiest while looking through (but I hardly use it, measurements work perfectly even if subject isn't perfectly in focus. It just needs to be in the center of the reticle)- non-illuminated lcd indications: hard/impossible to read on dark background or at night- will not or mostly not measure through glass window (keep that in mind)I can't compare with other, more expensive models. What I can say though, is that it does a good job at rangefinding and it is a significant help for range estimation compared to mildot-ranging. Precision is just unmatched. You will find situations in which it might let you down (very small and/or far away targets, dunno about rain/fog, low light etc), but if you're looking for an affordable, first rangefinder, this might be the one! This is my honest opinion, no discounts or paid review. All personal only.
