Streamlight89001 ProTac 2.0 2000-Lumen Headlamp with Rechargeable Battery, Strap, Black

This headlamp is probably the best culmination of features put together that I've ever found.You have the quality and reliability of Streamlight, you have an ultra bright emitter, a very good beam pattern (although not perfect, more later), great battery life, programmable functions, and a non-proprietary charging method.So the first good thing about it is probably the most important of all; it works. I know that sounds ridiculous, but there is a ton of cheapo lights and headlamps out there. This one is solid and reliable. It's also one of the brightest on the market to date.The beam pattern. The actual ratio of hotspot to flood is almost 100% ideal in my opinion. The throw is great, you can see an unbelievable distance, but the useful area up close where the light spills is fantastic. It's useable from very close to very far. There is a strange artifact directly in the center of the beam that has a weird purple hue to it. It's not the worst thing in the world, but it's also not ideal, especially in 2023 in this age of led lights.The battery lasts a very long time, especially on low, which is also a very nice usable amount of light. Speaking of the low setting, the ten tap programming function is awesome. I like a light this powerful to start on low. It's still a substantial amount of light on low!Another very important factor is being able to charge it. Usb-c is everywhere, and is basically the standard now. Being able to charge with a non-proprietary cable is invaluable. Never have a dead headlamp again!With all that being said, this is not a lightweight headlamp - at all. It's comfortable, but if you wear it for a extended period of time, you'll feel it in your neck. Worth the tradeoff for me, but something others should consider before getting this headlamp.

Super bright, great quality

It's fairly heavy for a headlamp but that doesn't bother me! Works great and has a great battery life.

This review is for Streamlight 89001 ProTac 2.0 2000-Lumen Headlamp with Rechargeable Battery, Strap, Black. I have been using Streamlight flashlights for many years. I have also been very impressed with their quality and light output, especially the high lumens. I have several headlamps from other brands with various degrees of success. I decided to go all out on a premium headlamp, so I ordered this Streamlight 89001 ProTac 2.0. This is a very quality headlamp with good light output, but I wasn't as happy it with it as I thought I would be. Most of the other headlamps I have more light output and cost a fraction of this one. Also, I was really surprised by the higher-than-expected weight and lamp size. I really thought this was going to be a more compact unit. I'm also not sure what my thoughts are about the charger being in the battery. I can see both pros and cons to it.I really wanted to love this light, but I didn't. I was thrown of be the high weight and size, and I wasn't thrilled with how the charging works. I will say that at least they use USB-C. Everything should be USB-C by now. There is nothing wrong with the light or its quality, but I was just expecting more than what I got. If they light wasn't as large or heavy, I would have had no problem with the premium price. However, for the premium price I really needed to love this light, to which I didn't.

This was a gift & it was much appreciated for quality, brightness of light & rechargeable.

It’s a little heavy, but the top strap keeps it in place. Buttons are easy to locate with gloves on. This thing is crazy bright, which is great for me as I often have to work in large open spaces at night. Great product!

i dont know how useful but no one had uploaded pictures so i thought i would.low, med, hightorque test channel tested the edc version of this protac 2.0 and it measured 2600 lumens before the normal rapid decline. they also tested the run time and it does last 2.5 hours, obviously not at 2000 lumens.this is only my 2nd headlamp and it is much heavier than my zebralight but the strap is also much more comfortable. i have not wore this for 30+ minutes yet so i cannot comment on if it hurts the neck or anythingi would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for high output light and you need some throw. this would be great for a hike or a walk. not so much for a mechanic or electrician etc

I have had nothing but problems with this headlamp since I purchased it. I also bought one of their flashlights and had the EXACT same problem. The switch is intermittent when cycling through the different modes (low, med and high). Sometimes it just shuts off altogether during use if I move my head. Seems like loose connections in the switch. Currently working with the manufacturer (Streamlight) to resolve the issues. Let’s see if they back their product. I would caution however making this purchase. I’m an aircraft engineer by trade and I use these head lamps a lot. Super disappointing for the money I spent. Thought I was getting a high quality product but couldn’t be more from the truth.
