Meccano Eiffel Tower Construction Set

This is a birthday present for my wife- and was actually quite difficult to find. Were Meccano to re-release this product- I have doubt it would shift in large numbers. It is time consuming to build- but that is half the attraction- its more an adult toy than anything else- and there is a great sense of achievement in building it. We build Meccano projects on a regular basis- while neither of us are engineers, we must have been in previous existences......... Definitely buy this- but be aware- it will probably take the guts of two straight days to put it together- though it looks spectacular when its done. If you have a budding engineer- its a possible project for them- but it does have over 1,200 parts- so its probably too daunting for a younger person- just keep this in mind.Only downside- tightening some of the bolts is really really difficult given the tight spaces involved.Buy it- I'm sure you know someone who will adore it.Note- it says it doubles up as 'Brooklyn Bridge'- don't do it- thats sacrilege.

Value for money. Good product.

I was looking for a construction toy to keep me occupied for a few days. This fitted the bill because I hadn't built a Meccano set for years, and looked amazing. I did have some difficulty in certain areas, but the end result was amazing. The only reason I deducted one star is because the power pack which powers the lights drains battery life too quickly. I would put brand new batteries in it, and after being on for just 10 minutes, the batteries would drain of power.This is a fun build and if you love Meccano, then I would recommend this set, just be wary of the power pack.

A good set well worth the money

Wanted a challenge and a build so thought this would be great and I was not disappointed, took a few days and some concentration but looks great when it's finished and even lights up!

Good product, defo not for kids

Only for the seasoned Meccano builder; will not win over any new fans as it's way too fiddly for the Lego generation. The method of building is poorly conceived and described. A shame as it looks well when complete.

J'ai commander ce méccano pour faire un cadeau et je me retrouve a le construire également ...Oubliez complètement tous ces avis négatifs sur le produit, ils ne sont absolument pas justifiés, la notice est claire, même si vous aurez certaines fois à devoir utiliser ce qu'on appel le cerveau, ce qui doit en déranger plus d'un.Ce méccano vous demande de la patience mais le résultat est au rendez-vous, la tour Eiffel est très belle et peut même être utilisée en décoration par la suite.
