The top bar comes off, the legs come off and you are left with 4 pieces that you can easy stow against the wall. My daughter can do this and she is 10. We do have to help with taking off and putting on the top bar piece, mainly you need two people to put in in straight, plus we like to check to make sure it is all in place before she starts doing all of her tricks on there. **Q: does is feel like the bar at gym** A: We attached it to plywood so it would be steadier. She did not need that when she first got the bar, but now she is about 80 pounds and it moved when she did a kip. She said it is a tiny bit smaller in diameter compared to the bar at the gym, but she mainly uses it now for strength, she is a level 4 gymnast and still loves her bar. **Q: How did you decide whether to get this pink bar rather than the purple junior kip bar?** A: My 10-yo still loves gymnastics and is 77 lbs, and therefore too big for the kip bar in purple. A lot of 10 yo still love bar gymnastics. I'd get the Pro bar (offered in pink and blue) **Q: Is the bar stable enough for a competitive gymnast?** A: It depends on the age & weight of the gymnast. My daughter is 62lbs & is just getting into the competitive side...it is just starting to lift up off the floor with some of her vigorous moves. It's been great up until now. She is on team 2.
