forget your nespresso, dolce and gabbana coffee machines, this is real! More of an afternoon coffee maker because it's quite sophisticated in its results. It starts surging immediately and keeps the remainder warm for 30 minutes. Surging is that knocking sound the thing makes as it kicks off, always use slightly more water than you need and the lid must be tight. (SPECIAL NOTE; on amazon beware of american products, they are 110 volts unvariable; you and the whole world are 220 volts. don't buy unless you can clearly see the british plug or look at the reviews. The thing will burn in your face if it's 110 taking power out of the wall at 220v.)

Perculator casing leaks after second use but outside Amazon's 30 day return period. No address available anywhere for warranty return and Amazon chat assistant worse than useless. No alternative but to put this purchase down to a bad experience and write off the cost.

240v unlike others on sale, easy to use. Once it’s ready, just give it a couple of minutes for the plunger to drop. I keep reheating mine over a few days, it’s as nice on the first pour as the last. Love it.

In hindsight I should have returned this item. The lid was tight I had to bend it in order for it to go on and off ok, as it was the glass bulb would have broken in no time, this also leaks in use.The coffee container did not allow water to filter through I had to open the holes in the bottom of the containerI expected more for almost £100
