Suitable replacement Easy install
I have a large Hunter ceiling fan in my Livingroom. Someone yanked on the chain which broke off inside the original switch. Ordered this switch as a replacement.It is physically a little smaller than the original but the physical dimension did not present any problems. The electrical connections were labeled exactly the same as the original (L1, 1, 2, 3) so I took a photo of the original along with the different color wires before I removed it and wired the new switch exactly the same way. The original nut that held the old switch in place fit this perfectly and held the switch in place securely.After more than a year of not having moving air in my Livingroom, I now have a fully functioning fan with all 3 speeds working as they should. The switch was well worth the price for me, I hope it works well for everyone else.

The Perfect Replacement
I'm kinda handy and adventurous. When the pull-chain switch on my ceiling fan failed, I thought I could repair the broken switch. I took the switch apart, a spring flung out, I tried to re-assemble the switch...and failed. I wasted about an hour doing this when I decide to search Amazon for "Replacement Ceiling Fan Switch", and there it was, the EXACT replacement for the the broken switch. Remove four wires from old broken switch (ONE AT A TIME AND PAY ATTENTION TO LOCATION ON OLD SWITCH) and attach them to the new switch. Search YouTube if you need help with this. Minus the one hour I wasted, this is a 10 minute fix. Replace don't repair the broken switch. Works great. Highly recommended.

Right switch for an old fan!
Was pleased that this switch truly does fit many Hunter (and others) older fans. It worked and now I need not go out and buy a new ceiling fan - that is, until I feel like it.
