Yen Press The Abandoned Empress, Vol. 2 (comic)

I've been a huge fan of The Abandoned Empress for many years. When the light novels (2013) were adapted into the manhwa (2017) I was thrilled. I never thought there'd be a day where it would be available to own in print. The stunning quality of these was absolutely worth the long wait. This story will take you on a journey. There is so much character development, heartache, and frustration along the way. But, you'll be rooting for Aristia as she breaks away from what is expected of her, fights for the right to forge her own path, and in doing so, find her own happiness.

The first book left off feeling like it would follow a girl trying to write her own destiny and come into herself as a strong independent woman of her own who didn’t need to rely on the crown prince to fulfill her destiny. I thought it was setting up for her to take over her dad’s place and create new friendships with other houses she never interacted with prior… while the art is still great and the new characters were cool i don’t like how it seems to be going in the direction of fighting fate is futile bc you’ll end up following it anyways… it quickly seems like she’s going to end up with the crown prince anyways and the one friend she had was lying from the start to begin with which i expected… i thought this was gonna be my new favorite series but I’m just disappointed now

I kept up with this online and was astonished when I saw it was available in paperback. I bought it and once it came it looked better than in the picture. The cover and art is so lovely I could read this book all day. The story is also super interesting! If you’re thinking of buying it I 10/10 recommend it !

It's is beautifully drawn and so good of a story I'm eagerly awaiting the next volume

I'm in love with the plot, and the art is fantastic. Plus, the slight touch of supernatural time travel makes it all the better.
