Well-designed and well-made
This seems to be a very well-designed and well-made kettle. It's quite light (680 grams - much lighter than any electric kettle) but a decent gauge stainless steel that won't dent easily. It heats up very quickly, much more quickly and quietly than any electric kettle I have had. The handle does not get hot at all and the design of the handle means that your hand isn't in the steam when you pour. The spout cover mechanism seems well designed with a stainless steel cap to prevent steam hitting the black plastic part of the cover. The pins and spring of the mechanism also seem to be stainless steel so I think it should be ok. It pours well with no drips on the counter, unlike my electric kettle which drips back. Since gas is less than a third of the price or electricity per kWh, this kettle should save me some money over time. If any problem arises I will report back, but if you don't see anything added here you can assume that this kettle is still working well.
