Great for home automation!
I purchased a single SwitchBot Smart Motorized Blind Kit and it worked so well I then bought the 3-pack for my other blinds. These are really easy to install with no drilling etc. The instructions were straight forward to follow and the app walks you through the process with step by step visuals. Aside from the easy physical installation, the setup within the app worked flawlessly first time for each one I setup. I charged them up before use and a few months later, I'm only now having to charge them up again which is as expected. I am using the included solar panels fitted on the windows but it's the middle of winter so I don't think they will perform as well at this time of year in any case given the low light. It's worth noting, the rod on one of my blinds is a bit stiff and not easy to twist, especially if the rod is pointing straight down (instead of holding it an an angle), this device is still able to open and close the blinds without any problem. I guess this will result in the battery life being shorter on this one but I was surprised it can open/close it with no issue. The Switchbot app is well thought out and has all the necessary settings you would expect. You can control the blinds via the app and set them so they auto open/close at specific times. The app also as the ability to automate them based on sunrise/sunset which I think would be the best choice. As a side note, whilst the app is comprehensive, after initially setting up within the app, I don't use it in any way to control them and instead I have incorporated them within Home Assistant as HA natively supports these Switchbot devices so I can control them along with all my other smart home devices. Great item and feature rich app. Recommended!

Affordable smart home solutions siding the right way
Iโve had this fitted for a couple of years now and I really canโt fault it. It was easy to install and connects reliably to Alexa and my smartphone via with SwitchBot bridge (works fine with the cheaper bridge if you donโt want the extra features including temperature sensor). The blind can also be operated remotely when away from home and included in Amazon Alexa routines, to give the appearance someone is at home when the house is empty. I set the unit up with the included solar panel, and have not had to plug the unit in to the mains to recharge it one, even in the winter. However, I only open and close the blind once most days, so if you have it on a blind that gets a lot of use, then you may find it needs the occasional charge from the mains too. As a disabled person, this helps me with something I would be unable to do otherwise, so Iโm pleased that an inexpensive and easy to fit bit of kit is available. I intend to buy more of these when I have more blinds fitted around the house. V impressed.

Need to purchase a switchbot hub for full functionality.
Pros: Seems well made and has so far been reliable. Quite & smooth in operation. When automated very little intervention required. Cons Without purchasing a hub it can only be used from the phone app, no automation or Alexa etc integration is possible. App is slow to connect and has limited range. Alexa functionality is limited to fully open or fully closed with no partual settings. I couldn't find any way to use the light sensor to regulate opening. Things to note: The blinds operating wand needs clearance around it to accommodate the mechanism, in my case it was too close to the slats and I had to make an extension piece. The solar panel has a very short lead meaning it needs to be stuck to the top of the window and is unsightly from the outside. I chose not to use it and will manually charge the battery with a standard usb charger when required. A hub is required for even basic automation, I found the mini hub to be perfectly adequate although it does state that for Homekit compatability a more expensive hub II is required making it a rather expensive setup.

Good Reliable Product
We now have five Switchbot Blind Tilts and they are great. We've had four for a couple of years and bought another earlier this year for a different room. We run them on timers through the Switchbot app and we have never had an issue with them not working when we need them to. Four are in the same room and have been combined into one rule so they act together. They are great for when you're not going to be at home when it gets dark or for when you're away on holiday. It's very easy to change the time they operate when the days get longer or shorter. They also work well with Alexa if you need to open/close without the timer. As you can see from the photo, they're discreet and not visible unless you pull the curtains back. We don't use the solar panel by choice based on the rooms we have them in. We have a different brand for opening our curtains which are very temperamental, recently when on holiday one individual stayed shut for the two weeks we were away. If we had bought the blind tilts first, we'd have gotten Switchbot Curtain Openers instead as we trust them. We will be replacing our existing ones when we get a chance with the Switchbot ones as based on our experience they are reliable and value for money as they do exactly what we need them to do. The app for Switchbot is much easier to navigate from the other brand too, was very easy to add in the additional tilt when we bought it.

Impressed with switchbot
This is my first switchbot device and I'm impressed. They have acknowledged home assistant and are certifying their devices for it, which is great. Initially I was reluctant to get this because it's Bluetooth and I wanted something to hook into my expansive ZigBee network, but I couldn't find anything else so I got this and a small esp32 device to use as a Bluetooth proxy for home assistant. Everything connected up fine in home assistant, but I did find it difficult to fit the device to my blinds. First I had to change from a pull cord to a wand, which was quite easy in the end. The instructions were good and I quickly realised that because I have two blinds perpendicular to each other that it was going to be a tight fit. The device can be fitted to the left or the right of the wand and I had to put mine on the right and used the alternative bracket due to some trim at the top of my blinds. Lastly I had to trim a small piece from the bracket due to the proximity of the other blind. So far it's been solid with no disconnects or mechanical issues. The battery life seems great and I haven't bothered with the solar panel, I'll just hook it up to a power bank every couple of months.

Fantastic smart motor for dumb blinds - works well with HomeAssistant
Works perfectly. Easy to use with both the SwitchBot app, and with HomeAssistant with a little knowhow (lookup ESPHome Bluetooth proxy for those considering this). Not overly expensive either, especially compared to smart blinds, so I rate this highly in terms of value for money. Only downside is I had to use a bit of thick double sided tape to make it fit with the rod from my specific blinds. Beyond that its been flawless.

Not the best option
The blind could never fully open or close. Most of the time the motor runs by itself but the blind is not turning

Switchbot blind tilt best feature
I am so pleased with my Switchbot blind tilt, with the best feature being the closing of blinds at sunset. The installation of the switchbot blind tilt was very easy. Having the blind tilt has given me so much reassurance of security that I can leave the house knowing that if I'm out whilst it gets dark, the flat will look lived in with the blinds automatically closing - I have automated lights as well, so not having the blinds shut with the lights on you can see straight through the windows and see that no one is at home. The mini hub allows for an enhancement of the blind tilt using the sunset settings, with 15 mins delay so that it is dark enough outside (and not too light) to close the blinds at an appropriate time. The time of closure shifts each day based on the exact sunset time, so great if you are going on holiday. I highly recommend. I actually converted my venetian blinds from cord controller to wand stick by replacing the mechanism so that it was compatible with the switchbot. That was fairly easy too.

Great Automation For Any Blinds
After replacing some old contractor grade blinds with nice custom ones, I decided to give one of these tilts a try. Ended up buying 2 more so the full room is automated. I was concerned that the rather small motor unit would have trouble turning the wand for 2 inch custom blinds, but it chugs right along without missing a beat. On that note, the size of these things is quite compact. I plan on painting the main shell to match the blinds (dark wood), but even with plain white right now, they don't stick out nearly as much as I expected they would. These paired easily with my Home Assistant hub via bluetooth proxy, and were easy to add into my daily automations. Open in the morning, partially close when the sun is hitting right through, and close fully at night. The Switchbot app itself is needed for initial install and possibly occasional calibration, but otherwise whatever hub you're able to pair to can handle everything. With Home Assistant, I am able to see battery and solar panel light levels (and even use that light level in my automation). They're not silent, but honestly not too loud, and on par with any automated blinds or shades I've ever used. For volume reference, at the beginning of the video, you can hear the Amazon Echo in the other room saying Ok to the open command. Even with all 3 moving at once, the volume is pretty reasonable. If I have any gripe, it's the the solar panel is a bit weak, needing pretty direct light to really charge. I have them in a bay window, and ended up needing to move one solar panel from the window that doesn't get much direct light to the window next to it. You can see the difference in the battery charge levels. All 3 started around 60%. The one that's in the window that gets a full blast of afternoon sun is nearly fully charged now. The other two are only up to about 80%. Overall, I'm absolutely thrilled with how well these work.

I should have bought this earlier
I stumbled on this device during Cyber Monday. Installation was easy, works great, does the job, the solar panel is an excellent feature (no cables from an outlet). Only disadvantage is that you need an additional hub if you want to control it with Google Home. I might try to use Home Assistant with a Bluetooth dongle.
