As advertised
Seems to be no replacement for shaving plane, although the tool seems to be made for putting in a new shaving strip. I don't think I would buy this again because, as sold, it is a "one-off"

Works great at shaving down wood
I made a custom chicken coop during shelter in place a year ago, but the wooden door expanded a bit due to the rain and wedges on the frame. Since I wood glue everything down, I couldn’t just disassemble it. So I got this planer to trim down a few layers. It was pretty easy, just like a strong rough sand paper on max power. I was able to remove half a centimeter of the width pretty quickly. Then I sand the door down with a regular sander and it fit great with a few mm of buffer room. I’m pretty happy with how easy it was. The knob and handle provided a good grip to work with.

Plastic junk
It fell apart when I opened it. Don’t see how this would survive on wood! Waste of money. Time.

Very poor quality
Plastic Screw on the back broke off while unpacking, did not even had chance to use it. Made from cheap plastic

Comfy handles
This is an excellent manual planer. I need to shave off the bottom of my interior door after having some new flooring installed. It wasn’t enough to run a saw through without risking chipping, so. Planing tool was my best option.I was surprised how easy and fast this got the job done. The handles are the real star of this tool. They are comfortable and, more importantly, allow me to apply even and consistent pressure for a smooth final product. The handle folds down for storage making it easy to hang from my pegboard.
