This is a pre-slope for under your pan liner.
As a professional tile installer, I have read some of these reviews and think I need to clarify a couple of things for homeowners. The pre-slope, is designed so that your mortar bed does not hold water and the water can drain into the little tiny holes at the underside of your drain. This is code in most counties. If you do not use a pre slope under your pan liner, water can set in the mud bed and never drain out of the weep holes at the flange of the shower drain. So yes, you still have to do a mortar bed on top of the pan liner and slope it to your drain. The mortar bed on top of the pan liner is for water to shed and drain off of the tile. The pre-slope is for water that has migrated through the grout lines of the tile into the mud bed. I hope this clarifies some things for first-timers and homeowners. Pre slopes are extremely important whether you buy them or you make them. But this particular pre-slope that I am commenting about is widely used in my profession and I highly recommend it.

Easy to install and saves time over the mortar bed method, expensive for what it is though
The profit margins the manufacturer is making on this product must be amazing. It's basically a cheap foam with some cardboard glued to one side. That being said, it definitely saves a lot of time over the old school method of building a pre-slope using mortar.

Good Product
This preslope worked great and saved a lot of work and time. As with everything the first time using a foam preslope takes some thought but it will save a day of concrete work and dry time

perfect but you still need to create a perfect slope WTF
Very misleading. I assumed the perfect slope was to replace having to make a mortor bed that was perfectly sloped but this product give you a perfect slope base that requires you to have to the same problem if you didnt spend $65 which is you still to a mortor bed and that mortor still requires you to make sure it slopes to the drain. why did I buy this then when I still have the issue and hassle of creating a mortor bed with a perferct drain slope!

Does what it says it does but cheap styrofoam
Works but I was surprised that it was just cheap styrofoam. Definitely overpriced by a huge factor. If I had known, I would have gotten same size styrofoam purchased at homedepot and then taper it manually; would have been $5.So, good product, saves time but shouldn't cost that much.

Saved me a lot of time doing my bath remodel.
At first, I thought styrofoam, then I installed it in a matter of minutes. My walk-in shower floor took about 30 minutes with mortar. The downfall is I had to trim it and the styrofoam made a slight mess. Still, I highly recommend this. Very sturdy after the mortar is applied. Bought the extensions so my shower is 3' x 7' now.

I had to slipe my top mortar bed anyways.
I really didnt even need this because it did not di wgat i thought it would which was save me the trouble of having to slope mortar perfectly on top of the product. But it does not work that way at all. So I really dont see the purpose of spending $140 on this thing that did not serve any purpose for me
