Asterom Handmade Leather Cane Strap - Stylish Wrist Strap for Canes and Walking Sticks

Recently, I bought a new cane - a sturdy cedar cane. It needs to be big and sturdy as I am… pretty big. The cane did not come with a strap, which I find to be handy. Checking Amazon, there were a bunch of cane straps.This was not the least expensive one, to the contrary, it was probably the most expensive… but it’s worth it.The elastic strap is about an inch wide. It holds great on my inch diameter cane. The strap is serious leather, soft yet strong. It looks great and works great. It’s not really expensive but it’s worth it.When it arrived, there was a note in the box. It’s made by a family in Ukraine, while the country is at war! You should definitely buy one!

Well crafted leather cane strap, very comfortable and looks and fits Asterom canes perfectly.Very stylish and classy, keeps the cane from falling. I purchased 2 of them, one for each cane Iordered. Only thing I might change on the strap is the length 8 inches is slightly too long formy preference. I feel like maybe 5 or 6 inches might have been the right size loop for my needson the wrist. Other than that, if it is a problem with the length, the elastic strap on the cane canbe adjusted up or down the shaft to better accommodate. Other than that, I am happy to supportsmall business in the Ukraine and Asterom products, the level of of excellence in craftsmanshipand attention to detail cannot be compared and is rare to find these days. Rest assured, one can shop with confidence in this company's products, they are second-to-none.

Update to the review which is below in parenthesis. The seller contacted me after reading my review and sent me a new cane strap with a stronger elastic band and another upgraded model with a velcro adjustable attachment for the cane shaft. They sent a handwritten note apologizing for my experience with the original strap. I did not ask for a replacement/return- they just did it. This is a family owned business in Ukraine and are proud of their workmanship. They wanted to be sure I had a quality product. This newer one with the stronger elastic works great. The velcro version allows you to custom it to the size of your cane. I would give 10 STARS if I could for their customer service alone! (The elastic band that goes on your cane will slip down. I almost lost it because it slipped down the shaft. I have a wood tapered Cane thicker near the handle. So if it starts slipping it can fall off. The leather strap is large but soft so you can adjust by putting a knot in it. )

I had built this cane from various parts purchased. When I would go shopping I would have to try balancing the cane while I would check a product price. I thought about a cane strap to take care of this problem. I viewed many cane straps but they were all made of what appeared to be substandard products such as a thin braided rope. I came across the Asterom Handmade Leather Cane Strap. This strap is of great quality, easy to install, and met the standard of style and class that I was looking for to ad to my custom cane.

I bought this for my husband who is continually dropping his cane, which I then have to pick up for him. This is a back-saver for me, and an ego-saver for him. A added plus is that the manufacturer is in the Ukraine, which aids that country. The strap is easy to put on the cane and is comfortable to use. As it is leather, the more it is used, the softer and more comfortable it will become. Love this product!

There is a major design flaw. The metal loop that attaches the leather strap to the elastic band..is sewn on vertically, causing the strap to stick straight out from the cane instead of laying down flat against the cane when stored (not in use). The metal loop should be sewn on elastic loop "horizontally" so leather strap lays down flat against cane AND correctly fits around the wrist without twisting the leather strap.

I bought this to replace broken strap on my Hurricane that does not have a removable base so, unfortunately, it is impossible to get it on the cane -- had to sew it onto old strap. If you have a cane with a removable base, then it will suit you. Also strap is quite large -- not a deal breaker, but may be too large for some.

A generous quality leather strap for any cane but a perfect match for Asterom's attractive oak walking canes. Useful and downright handsome design by the same Ukrainian family business. It's a value for the great utility it adds in the supple leather, strong yet soft on skin, for men or women.
