HAUPPAUGE 3875199 WinTV-quadHD PCIe TV Receiver - Green

The Hauppauge Win-TV Quad is an excellent low-profile TV tuner card. Actually it has four tuners, although why someone would ever need this many is beyond me! This card can be adapted to fit a low-profile slot, typical of those found in SFF (small-form factor) machines. I have installed this card into my Dell Optiplex 990 SFF, and it fits perfectly into a spare PCI-E slot, sitting alongside a low-profile graphics card. The low-profile bracket is included in the kit, as is a very nice little IR remote control unit, and an IR receiver that plugs into the card itself. Speaking of connections, this card actually has a standard UK-style co-axial input, meaning that no special cables or 'F' connectors are required to connect the card to your digital TV aerial. With a strong signal, this card can detect all of the expected digital TV channels, along with a selection of digital radio channels too. Picture quality is excellent, especially when viewing HD channels.On the software side of things, I did not install the software from the included CD, instead electing to download the latest version of WinTV 8.5 from the Hauppauge website. The software works well enough and allows recording of TV programmes, as well as offering the ability to 'pause' live TV broadcasts. If you prefer to use Windows Media Center instead, then the card also works with this software.All in all, I have been very pleased with this TV tuner. My only small gripe is that I don't think that the build quality of the PCB is perfect - the heat sink seems to have some cosmetic marks / damage, and the aerial input terminal is not mounted square on the board. Although the card worked fine, I actually returned the first one I bought to Amazon because of these flaws, but the replacement was no better. That said, for £100, I think this is an excellent TV tuner package, which seems to work well enough. The fact that it fits in a low-profile slot is an added bonus.

I bought this board to facilitate removing my TV from my setup in place of a higher spec monitor. I've had no issues with the card so far for tuning TV or recording video. From a hardware perspective I have no complaints whatsoever.However, WInTV, the TV tuning and recording software that is free with the card, has proved less than perfect. It regularly closes unexpectedly when changing channels (though thankfully not in the middle of viewing for me so far). The TV guide also does not stay up to date and is regularly slightly incorrect. A manual update will usually fix the issue, but the update takes an excessive amount of time.I'm planning to seek out an alternative software when I can spare a little time to look into it, but in any case I don't currently believe the issue is with the hardware. Hopefully a change in software will solve my issue, but it is an excellent TV tuner either way.

the product arrived quickly and undamaged and was a fair price. it was not without its problems though. there was no driver cd in the box and you need to download the required software and drivers from the internet. that was easy enough. the insult is that you need to activate the software which needs an activation keycode which should be in the box. in the end i had to pay an extra 12 euro's to get the code. i now need to wait for this to be posted to me along with an install disc. there is also no basic instruction booklet in the box. apart from this problem the product works fine although it seems as if the remote control will not work unless i got the proper software

Although not the cheapest, it is an excellent digital terrestrial card, and worth the money. Setup and user interface not the slickest but easy enough and reception is good. Multi Tuner function has worked well, allowing seamless recording and watching concurrentely.Overall very pleased with product.

I have had the Hauppage tv card for almost a month now, it was easy to fit, and being able to record one program whilst watching another is so much better than the previous tv card that I had.I do not like Win tv that came with the tv card, it sticks when changing channels, and I much rather prefer to use Windows media center, but I shall have to get used to it soon when I am eventually forced to upgrade to Windows 10.I do not like the remote control either, being just 8.5 c/m x 5.5 c/m, it is far to small. I have tried to find a larger remote on amazon, but cannot find one.

This works superbly well in my Windows 7 MCE build. The signal is clear and its great having 4 tuners. The drivers also work well and I have no issues with suspend/sleep. Highly recommended.

Installed card into a modern Skylake i7 chipset computer that boots from NVME M.2 drive in literally a few seconds.Running Windows Media Center under Windows 8.1 with all updates and a clean build.On the positive side, this card is neat, nice addition of heat sink on it, recent drivers from August 2016 (at time of writing these were latest released drivers) and it didn't fall out of Device Manager randomly like a previous Blackgold card did in another machine which the manufacturer admitted and never fixed.This is where it ends though - the card when installed (even BEFORE adding the drivers to support it in Windows), immediately adds something like 1-2 minutes boot up delay. Given this is a modern machine you wouldn't want a slow boot up on a Media Center machine when you are used to seconds rather than minutes.I completed a returns request for it and will look at TBS Quad or DVBSky Dual instead.

La carte d'acquisition WinTV QuadHD est tombé en panne au bout de 4 mois, jusque là, le fonctionnement était impeccable, j'en ai informé Bora Computeur le dimanche soir 8 mars, j'ai reçu le bon de ré-expédition lundi matinré-expédié la carte lundi 9 mars, j'ai reçu sa remplaçante le 20 mars, ce qui est parfait et dénote un SAV de qualité( avec toutefois un manque de communication : carte reçue ? statut de la garantie ? date de renvoi ?)

Prodotto arrivato tramite corriere nei tempi previsti senza problemi di consegna. Installazione facile anche del software (attenzione di utilizzare la versione inglese scaricata dall'indirizzo fornito con la scheda (la versione Italiana non accetta la registrazione !!). Il programma comunque è poi in italiano.Ricezione dei probrammi molto buona (superiore deisamente ai 2 ricevitori su USB che usavo in precedenza.Personalmente non utilizzo il programma video della scheda originale (Hauppauge WinTV10) anche perchè il telecomando in dotazione è "deludente" (piccolo e scomodo). Personalmente preferisco utilizzare il programma DVBViewer (a pagamento ma forniscono regolari aggiornamenti), che mi sembra più friendly (problema di abitudine ?) usando come telecomando la tartierina per TV Rii Mini, facilmente personalizzabile.Si possono registrare veramente 4 programmi contemporaneamente !

Die Hardware ist ein absoluter Traum, nur die mitgelieferte Software (WinTV) ist ziemlicher Müll.Warum ich trotzdem 5 Punkte vergebe? Weil sonst nicht mal ansatzweise eine ähnlich gute Hardware existiert und es für die Software Alternativen am Markt gibt (evtl. kosten die nochmal ca. 20,- € aber das sollte es einem bei der Karte wert sein, zumal die meist mehr können als die WinTV Software).Alle beschriebenen Probleme mit Aufhängern, Ressourcenverbrauch und langen Umschaltzeiten zwischen den Kanälen kommt nur von der WinTV Software, nicht von der Karte selbst, diese ist pfeilschnell. Die WinTV Software wird halt mitgeliefert, damit man die Karte out-of-the-Box nutzen kann, da der Windows Media Player das nicht kann.Ich habe Hauppauge Karten seit über 10 Jahren in Gebrauch und war am Anfang sehr enttäuscht über die Leistung, aber seit ich die Kombination HW+Treiber und separate Software zum betrachten benutze, bin ich restlos begeistert. Ich verwende seit Jahren die DVB Viewer Software zusammen mit diversen Karten und bin sehr zufrieden (Umschaltzeiten unter 1 Sekunde; Betrieb als DVB-C mit Unitymedia vormals Kabel BW). Hauppauge ist halt ein Hardwareladen, mit Software haben die es nicht ganz so - allerdings sind die Hardwaretreiber von denen glücklicherweise auch sehr gut.Bitte auf keinen Fall irgendwelche Windows-Treiber für die Karte benutzen (was ich auch schon gelesen habe), sondern das Treiberpaket von Hauppauge, das man von deren Supportseite separat (ohne WinTV) herunterladen kann, installieren!
