Yes it does as long as you use it every time you put shoes on and take them off

Is it ok to use this in trainers without wearing socks? i.e. will it irritate the skin?

hi the best way to use this is when your not wearing your trainers to spray them. for example over night. this deodorizes them for when you wear them. there is also a foot version which is to spray directly on the feet.
