Worked great for a cover over a drain in the garage, I was able to trim it and attach it to the remnants of the old cover. Looks neat, stops items dropping down there.

If you need steel meshing in a application where spot welded mesh won't do and twisted mesh has too large openings, this is the mesh you want. Finding woven wire mesh is ridiculously hard and without it my updraft high temperature wood stove would just not work as well. Other advantages is that this is stainless steel (at least it looks like it) rather than the usual galvanised steel, so it should be extremely durable. As there is no welding in between perpendicular wires it is extremely easy to shape into form and does so in a very clean fashion with no crumples and producing mesmerisingly smooth shapes. Bear in mind that, as this is not welded mesh, you will probably loose a couple meshes on the side to fold it back (and prevent it from loosing wires) unless you are mounting it in a frame.

Our dishwasher has cheap plastic cutlery basket with partitions, the bottom of which keeps getting bits breaking out - the result is that cutlery drops down and fouls the bottom rotor. I wanted this to make false bottoms in a material that wouldn't get damaged by cutlery and this is just the job. This grade of stainless seems resistant to the harsh grade of detergent used in dishwashers as seen in the weeks of constant use so far. Even this coarse mesh (hence thicker wire) was cut easily with a pair of heavy duty tinsnips and the edges could be bent over with pliers. I was fortunate in that I could just get the exact pieces I wanted from one 15cmx15cm sheet but should I have needed bigger it would have been nice to have the option of bigger sheets. A nice product.
