After opening there is still a metal ring attached to the container, surely this is not safe for use re microwave cooking?

It’s absolutely fine. As long as it makes no contact with a metal part of the microwave, there is no sparking, arcing or danger. Many microwaves now have metal shelves in them.

It is a true vegetable suet, not beef suet. It fully enclosed the pudding. You remove the pull tab top, place it in a microwave safe dish and heat it for 3 minutes. If you heat it longer than 3 minutes, the covering will pop off-no damage to the pudding, but it may stick to the sides of the plastic container.

How much sodium in steak & kidney pudding & steak & kidney pie?

The label says 3.28 grams of Salt in the entire pie. Your servings may vary. I usually eat the whole thing. This is the pie, not the pudding.
