Heybike Ranger Electric Bike for Adults, Peak 1400W Upgraded Motor Ebike, 28MPH [20" Fat Tire All-Terrain] 600Wh Removable Battery Folding Step-Thru E Bike with Front Suspension

I bought this bike as a way to get home from the auto repair shop or back to the shop to pick up my car. I always wanted to get a folding bike for that purpose but an e-bike is a much better and more efficient idea. I stumbled on Heybike as a recommended product review. This after being disappointed by looking at two other e-bike folding bike companies that were highly rated but not so great warranty/customer service reviews by customers.I reviewed the Heybike Site and was impressed with the product offering, especially the 3 choices in folding e-bikes for budget and cost effective purpose. I decided on the Ranger as it was a very cost effective purchase as a class 2-3 bike. It also came with saddlebags. The product was shipped directly by Fed-Ex and they did a good job delivering it except leaving the box upside down, which was clearly marked.The bike itself is well packaged and is heavy to get out of the box. The directions on assembly are not entirely clear and could use some improvement but I was able to figure it out. The bike went together well but getting the battery out of the frame was tough and required a little bending of the metal guide strap but still secures the battery, while being easier to remove.I was able to ride the bike the next morning and even in in the lowest setting the bike takes off at a speed of 16 mph! It was quick, fun, smooth and just a blast to ride. I felt like I was on gas powered mini bike, the wide tires make it super smooth. I like the flashing brake light to warn traffic behind you I have not tried assistance levels 2 or 3 yet but suspect the bike will go like a rocket. The bike is easy to fold but it is heavy, I had to watch a YouTube video to see how the pedals folded by pushing in on the pedals and they fold down or up, flip them back and they are solid again--this was not in the instructions.I had problems with the Heybike app as it would not recognize the Ranger on bluetooth. I emailed Heybike and was informed the Ranger does not connect with the Heybike app. My saddlebags that were supposed to come with the bike as advertised on Amazon did not come with the bike. I wrote Heybike directly and through Amazon. Heybike contacted me right away and told me the saddlebags would be sent separately and they were, but it would have been nice to know this at the time of order. Customer service was very god with other questions, so I have more confidence with this company and am please with the Ranger e-bike. I have several other e-bikes by a well known manufacturer but I like the Heybike Ranger for it's unique style that says I am fun let's go! Good purchase you will be happy.

First, I am several months late on this review and although I normally don't have time for reviews, reason not having it completed already, I felt compelled due to my overwhelming positive experience with this bike and the customer service I received back in December of last year.This is our first E-Bike and it is much easier for us to purchase online due to our lifestyle and busy professions. I did my due diligence and felt Heybike would be a good fit for our first E-bike. The styling, design and customer reviews led me to ordering two Heybike Rangers as a Christmas surprise gift for my wife and I to enjoy together. First lets cover the bike.I'm not a professional reviewer and dont' know much about E-Bikes but overall this bike provides everything we were looking for in an E-bike. Although a bit heavy, it rides extremely well and having tested it on nearly all surfaces, it is maneuverable and secure. The large tires prevent any unstable situations when changing riding surfaces or where a thin tired bike would cause issues. This was very important to us as we are approaching retirement and want something functional but very stable and safe. We also liked the overall styling of the bike as it was one of the most attractive for a step through design. It was relatively easy to assemble and was up and running in no time. I won't go into all the features of the bike, but they are many and work well. I really appreciated the ability to change the number of electric power levels, 3, 5 or 7 and then also assigning the level of assist at each power level. It really allowed us to fine tune our ride experience as we prefer manual biking with small increments of power assist when we need it. For us, this is a fantastic bike and as we took it out for a 6 mile outing around our neighborhood yesterday, we received many complements and many heads turned admiring the bikes. OK, now on the negative experience, but extremely positive as it relates to Heybikes customer service.I originally ordered two bikes several weeks in advance of Christmas to ensure their arrival before Christmas. One arrived two weeks before Christmas and the other one showed delayed in the FedEx system. I attempted to hunt it down but to no avail. With only a week left until Christmas I finally reached out to customer service and requested another bike sent out immediately in order to make the Christmas deadline as this was a special gift and surprise for my wife. Heybike responded and shipped a bike the next day with it ultimately arriving on the 24th of December! It made our Christmas and we want to thank Heybike customer service for responding as quickly as they did as another hour or so and certainly one more day delay and it would not have made it on time. Thank you customer service!They also reached out and offered a free set of rear view mirrors for our trouble and my eventual review but I didn't take them up on it, their excellent customer service was more than enough. Even though the delay had nothing to do with them and everything to do with FedEx, they still took care of us and worked out the details finding the lost bike later.I can't say enough about the bike and especially customer service. If your interested in an excellent E-Bike and a customer service that cares about their customers, product and reputation, then this bike or other model from Heybike will be a safe and excellent choice.

This HeyBike Ranger is the second E-Bike that I've purchased. The other is a 26". I purchased this one for my lady so we can ride together. This is a great bike and the step through design is nice. It comes with some features that I wish were on the other bike. The acceleration on the Ranger surprised me. You really want to be hanging on when you take off. It's pretty nice that the brake light also runs straight from the battery as well as the headlight. I did have an issue with assembly. There was a 1/4 " of free play in the handlebar. The HeyBike service was exceptional and they responded quickly. I sent a video of the issue and they let me know how to fix it. I'm very pleased with the purchase. She's able to ride both street and trails with the bike and when I need it, with the basket and saddlebags it doubles as a cargo bike.

I have done quite a bit of research and read reviews for an ebike that that suits my needs and the Heybike Ranger came up as my number one option. This is a rad looking ebike. The 5 spoke wheels with the fat tires are eye catching. The performance so far has been outstanding. I weigh about 150 lbs and I got the Ranger topping out at approximately 26 mph top speed on a flat surface. My only complain are the brakes can get squeaky and loud at times. I love the fact that the rear brake lights blinks when used. Overall I have been super happy with the product and for peace of mind, I know their customer service will be there for you.

UPDATE: The Heybike Ranger is a great bike, very versatile and it breezed me up a 25° slope without me having to pedal at all. Having ridden across a gravel and grass field to test out the suspension as well, I can safely say that I am thoroughly satisfied with my purchase and that those who buy will be pleased. Customer Service was a bit slow on the uptake, but they've come through in the last few days.However, I do have a few things to note.First, the brakes arrived miscalibrated. I had to learn from scratch how Shimano brake systems worked, as the video they provided was only half of the information needed to fix them.Second, the nut that holds on the bike seat is quite tough. I had to use WD-40, a wrench, a hammer, and a LOT of torque to remove even one nut. However, once that was done, replacing the seat was easy.Third, the bike comes with its default motor sensitivity at the highest setting, meaning it pushes as much voltage to the PAS motor as possible from the get-go. This means the bike accelerates fast, but also that it's harder to control. I had to use the user manual (found online) to adjust the bike's PAS sensitivity.Fourth, the bike's PAS kicks in the second you begin to pedal. I'm not sure if there's a way to control that in the bike's settings, but I've inquired so we'll see.Fifth, the front fender isn't attached very well. It's sufficient for city riding or riding in fairly level fields, but I imagine it would be a little loosely attached on mountain trails.All in all, a great bike with a few hiccups here and there, but nothing terribly major. 4 out of 5 mostly because of the brakes being miscalibrated, but also because of the other issues.OLD:The bike arrived with the breaks miscalibrated, making the bike unrideable. Having contacted the company on the 26th I still have not received a reply. Leaving this review in hopes they get back to me on either fixing the brakes or exchanging the bike.

We had first purchased a Mars and liked it so much we purchased a Ranger shortly after. Delivered in 2 days and easy to assemble. Looking forward to many great rides.
