Roman Blind Kit 120cm (47")

This is a great DIY option. The kit has everything you need except for the actual material from which you are making your blind. It comes with instructions, but I have to admit I didn’t follow the advice on the rod placement. I used only 3 of them (there are 5 in the kit) for my 120cm drop blind, with the result pictured and I am happy with it. I didn’t want something overly folded and bunched up, plus my blind is actually made from a spare curtain with a fringe on it, which I wanted to show when the blind was up. I used good housekeeping’s website to assist me with the rod placement. It seems to have worked.After hemming the sides of your material, you sew on the Velcro band at the top, and the bottom rod is sewn into the hem at the bottom. You then use the rod pockets. Position them with pins and then sew into place. Then you feed the cords down into the pre made guide pockets (in the rod pockets) from the main track. It’s all very easy to follow. You tie them off, cut the excess. Then you’re ready to hang your blind with three screws. Rawl plugs and screws are supplied along with the fixings, which are adaptable to be used either outside or within the window recess.If I had to criticise, I’d say the Velcro tape could be a bit longer. It was difficult to sew because of its comparative rigidity, and I’m not an experienced seamstress. I did this by hand. No machine. So don’t be daunted if you don’t have a sewing machine.I’d definitely recommend this kit.

Hopefully this product will prove that it has lasting quality. I am not over sure and have not cut any of the strings yet in case.The instructions took some reading and I struggled with putting the tapes on the right way, one is wrong. Not as sturdy as similar products I have seen. But it may yet prove me wrong.

Used this for my first homemade Roman blind, was so easy, I will buy again. A big difference between the smallest size and next size up, which was annoying as I only needed 2 more inches but I guess the kits can't be made in every single size. In any case it was all very easy to cut to the right size, you need a mini hacksaw for the job. Everything is all set up at the top end which makes it very easy and the Velcro is strong which means it can take all the pulling up and down of the blind, very happy.

A well made sturdy blind,easy to use.I had to shorten the width to fit a recess which was simple to do.
