These squares were fantastic for my tournament size chess board. Each square is 2"x2". It is easy to apply stain and the lay the squares onto a piece of wood as a base. 150 squares is enough to make two chess boards and still have some extras in case something goes wrong or if the grain or cut is not as desired.

Paint does not sit well on these. They are too porous and rough, I will sand them when I get around to it and then lacquer them.
