Van Gogh: His Life and Works in 500 Images

I have become fascinated with this artist and his life since seeing a documentary about him. This book contains lots of detail about his life and gives an insight into the man himself which I find intriguing. However, even better, is having so many wonderful images of his work in one book. It is very special and a joy. Thank you.

Excellent quality images representing every major period from the artist's career. 500 images certainly takes some effort to memorise and each one has an impressive description and back story as to their creation, the techniques and the influences which Van Gogh encountered in their creation. Not a hardcover but e quality fine print and binding is excellent and this book is wonderful as a general reference to the artist and his works. Every major piece is covered and you get a real feel for the progression in the artist as a painter and as a man.

I love Vincent's work and have sometimes used his paintings in painting classes. This is not a coffee table art book but a sweep across the whole of his work. Excellent for the art lover who cannot afford big heavy art books.

The book is beautifully printed, and full of so many paintings. Probably the most one can find in any one book, with plenty about his life as well. A great reference!
