Spring is in the air...
...check out what goes on down at the working farm.🐮 TRACTOR TED IN SPRINGTIME🐎 ALEXANDRA HEARD🐑 TRACTORLAND2008/‘Printed by Apple Litho (Bristol) Ltd. ~ an FSC & ISO 14001 environmentally accredited company using wind turbine energy, vegetable oil based inks & recycling 95% of waste materials.’ooOooFrom the back cover:'Join Tractor Ted as he explores life on a real farm. Full of brilliant pictures for your children to learn all about the activities on a working farm and have great fun too!Springtime at Tractorland brings us lots of newly born animals. There are jumping lambs, muddy piglets and beautiful foals. The grass is cut with a mower, collected with the baler and wrapped up with a bale wrapper.’ooOooI like these books about the smiling-faced ‘Tractor Ted’, ‘who’ has become quite famous in his own right, proudly sporting the number plate ‘TED 1’, too!I met the author of this series of books a while back and was very impressed by the passion for early education to have that little bit more...in this case 'REAL LIFE' farm photographs reproduced in a quality book.Time flies for I have to admit that I didn’t realise that ‘Tractor Ted’ is now over 10 years old, and, has his own website! In this title, ‘Tractor Ted’ is concerned with Springtime, just around the corner (at the time of writing). The colourful and durable paperback cover opens to 33 thick, shiny pages with pictures on each page of things that you might see out & about, passing a local farm. Each left hand page features ‘Tractor Ted’ in the bottom left telling us briefly what is going on in a short sentence or two; later on, a question and...perhaps...requiring a quick flick back to recollect. The right hand page offers more information, also brief, leaving scope for further discussion. This title covers the main duties in spring, including mowing the grass through to how it is baled & stored. In the middle of the book (which is stapled) is a picture of a newborn lamb and goes on to show different 'breeds' of sheep, i.e. brown ones, spotty ones & white ones! The book goes on to cover a baby pig, cow & horse.Towards the back, the pages return to the busy time the tractor has at this time of year with ploughing, harrowing, planting, fertilising and the 'hedgecutter' than not only does just that but can also mow the grass, too!‘GAMES TO PLAY!’ is a three-page ‘exercise’, which closes the book. It is a basic memory test, recalling what three machines are called and three baby animal names, along with a simple counting exercise from 1-5.‘You can also follow Ted’s adventures on the farm with this accompanying DVD ’, with the two also coming in a pack , which would make a great gift idea, IMO.The 3 other seasonal book titles currently available: TRACTOR TED in SUMMER TIME TRACTOR TED in AUTUMN TIME TRACTOR TED in WINTER TIME along with: TRACTOR TED ALL ABOUT TRACTORS TRACTOR TED BIG MACHINES TRACTOR TED MEETS THE ANIMALS TRACTOR TED SHOWTIME Images © Alexandra Heard/TractorLand

Excellent!
Our son who is two and a half is completely obsessed with farms - especially tractors. We initially bought him a Tractor Ted DVD which he watches over and over again and I was very impressed with how informative and educational it was. I didn't know a few of the things they said! The book itself has a few words on each page with big, colourful pictures which makes it ideal in keeping him interested and he can look at it on his own. I was very impressed with the quality of the book and Amazon had the best price!

This seminal work...
This seminal work for infant tractor fanatics. It's to be savoured by all small boys whose happiest moments are when sitting in a tractor cab belonging to a friendly farmer. Reading any one Tractor Ted book is probably going to lead to the purchase of the whole series.

great book to accompany the DVD
My son already has most of the Tractor Ted DVDs so I got him this book, he is in reception and really enjoys it - as it asks what colour some animals are and to do a bit of counting, words simple and photographs nice and big not too long.

... loves the assortment shown - attention span is not good at 18 months
Grandson is totally into Tractors and loves the assortment shown - attention span is not good at 18 months, but this is the best for at least 10 minutes.
