Hungry Hungry Hippos

Bought this for my niece. She had been asking for this game in particular. Very good fast moving, a bit frantic, game. But hey, that just what kids like. Snapping the hippos mouths to get as many balls as they can.Very good toy for kids and for adults to join in and show their competitive side.

after seeing the advert on TV my daughter badgered us for this and chose it to spend her birthday money on. She loves it, we love it and it has had a lot of use. Great for a 5 year old!

Was this not the greatest game ever ? It is one of the stand out presents from my childhood and I thought I'd share it with my son. I remember fondly the crazy times we had whacking hippos to make them swallow as many balls as possible and was looking forward to reliving this experience. It's been fun and our four year old has really taken to it. It's pretty sturdy and has already taken one hell of a pounding. However it is irritating that every now and again the mouths of the hippos get jammed wide open and the game has to be stopped for 30 seconds of frustrated jaw manipulation. As another reviewer states, the game does not fit back in the box and aside from using brute force the hippos will not detach from the base. This has meant that we have lost many of the balls.

This was a Xmas present for my nephew who is 4 and we all had a blast playing it on Xmas day. Even by Boxing Day though the heads of a couple of Hippos kept getting jammed so don't expect it to last for that long but as the novelty of it has already waned I'm sure it will last long enough for his enjoyment at this time of his life. I would buy it again as it was so much fun for all.

I love this game we have played it twice and its a great laugh.

I was hoping to find the old version of this game but i am not disappointed in this one though.I love the simple and easy way to pack the game back into the box

Loved it as a kid, and love it now!! Is pretty robust considering the bashing it has been given the whole of christmas by the kids - could do with spare balls

It's an ok game, but quite expensive for what it is. It's a good game to help towards learning to count how many marbles your hippo has eaten.

Know D's and adults alike love this game!

Je vous conseille vivement de choisir la version anglaise des Hippos Gloutons : c'est la même que la française, mais en moins cher ! Je suis ravie d'avoir pris le risque !On adore ce jeu, venu de notre enfance (à nous les parents !) et on le fait découvrir à nos enfants : franches parties de rigolades pour toute la famille !

Dieses Spiel hat mein Sohn zum dritten Geburtstag bekommen - er hat einen Heidenspaß damit und die Kinder können es dank des wirklich simplen Spielablaufs sehr schnell alleine spielen.Allerdings sollte man sich darüber im Klaren sein, dass es einen erheblichen Lärmpegel erzeugt, da die Kinder einfach nur wie wild auf alle Hebel und Hippos hauen, dabei auch gerne Freudenschreie und ähnliches von sich lassen.Das Spiel an sich besteht aus dem Spielbrett, auf dem 4 Hippos befestigt sind. Die Mäuler gehen alle zum Spielfeld und lassen sich mittels eines Hebels öffnen und Schließen. Jeder hat neben seinem Hippo eine Reihe mit 5 Kugeln (die übrigens auch gerne mal verloren gehen, wir haben nur noch 15 von 20), die nacheinander auf die Spielfläche geschossen werden und man muss die mit dem Hippomaul einfangen. Wer am Ende die meisten Kugeln in seinem Sammelbehälter hat, hat gewonnen.+ Es macht wirklich sehr viel Spaß+ Kinder ab 3 Jahren können es ohne Erwachsene miteinander spielen- hoher Lärmpegel- die Kugeln gehen leider schnell verlorenFazit: Kaufempfehlung :-)

Dieses Spiel macht echt Spaß und auch Erwachsene sind dafür zu begeistern.Braucht keine Erklärung und ist für groß und klein spielbar.Einzige Manko ist der enorme Lärmpegel der beim Spielen erreicht wird.Ist aber sicherlich auch ein Indiz für den Spass.
