This is a great sat nav, very clear navigation looks good and good value for money

Bought to replace one that came with my VW that had begun to mess up. I love the large screen and the notifications of hazards ahead. This has many useful features that my previous sat nav didn't have. I would highly recommend this... So much so that I also got one for my son:)

For the price the Garmin shows a superb screen resolution and quick updates when touched lightly, having a Garmin bike GPS this is a great improvement over my old Zumo 550 which has proved bullet proof and the battery lasts around 2 1/2 hours. The 61LMT unfortunately does not last anything like my old one as they are now made so thin a large capacity battery cannot be fitted. Also the fittings on the back are very mickey mouse and many times the suction cup bracket has come away from the main body due to a very weak plastic clip. Have a TomTom also which has proved to be a pain when trying to update it on the internet wheres the Garmin loads up very quickly and without any problems occurring.If you want a large easy to read screen then this is the one for the price. Can't give five stars as they are now all overpriced and battery life is short with so many mobile phones around.

I wanted to install this in a secure but factory fitted looking mount, so I made my own using various bits and some fabrication. Quite pleased with the result...The Satnav appears to be good value and works very well; however, I had a problem where the power supply was not being recognised properly by the unit, which meant it would not charge the device or more importantly let me increase the brightness. After I bit of investigation I realised that because the front power supply was also powering a usb socket, the unit ‘thought’ I was using a usb cable. When I plugged the power supply into the rear power socket it worked properly! Weird and more luck than judgement that I worked it out, so watch out for this if you are having similar problems.

My third Garmin GPS and it did not disappoint. Great screen and only got this for £149 and downloaded a free map available on Garmin’s website. Voice recognition works but not great. Wish Garmin would provide Alexa in next software update.

Large clear screen and easy to use. However the major issues are that on occasion the device has sent me down a few dead ends and never ending loops and 70% of the time the maximum speed indicator on the road I'm driving on is wrong, also the live speedometer is about 3-5 mph slower than the speed I'm doing. If this was not enough, sometimes it decides to reboot itself whilst in use. An irritating factor is the notification sound, it's a single sound that notifies you for everything i.e. speeding camera, change in speed limit, approaching school etc… as far as I know you can’t change and select a distinctive sound for a specific alert, so I have to keep looking at the screen to see what the heck the issue is now! A real headache is the updating, don’t even bother trying to update it through wireless, it’s pointless. Do that by plugging it into your pc.

This sat nav does not contain a large proportion of UK post codes. It will find some of them, but with others it simply doesn't have them in it's database. This is even with the latest UK map updates. I talked to Garmin support on the phone and they admitted there is a problem and there is no solution at present. I assume the problem is the same with all similar Garmin devices in the UK. You have been warned. Avoid this sat nav if you want to use UK post codes to find your destination.

This has to be the best sat Nav we have ever had! The large screen is amazing! Easy to use. I used to always have Tom Tom's but but far I prefer this garmin over any Tom Tom! So many settings, once we had a play myself and my husband couldn't wait to use it. It is so clear coming upto junctions on where you need to go! Would highly recommend!!

après avoir eu un tomtom xl et un via 120 ou je n'est jamais pus mettre a jour la cartographie les alertes n'en parlons pas j'en avais ra le bolle de de tourné en rond de perdre des heures sur la route vous leur demandés autoroute sans péage et bien non ils vous envoient sur les autoroutes a péage quelle merde le via 120 que j'ai acheté en février 2018 après mise a jour et que je le met en route il me dit cartographie rendez vous sur le site pour obtenir de nouvelle carte sur ce gps bien sur payant il est mentionné carte du 10/2010 et la je dit bravo tomtom . ET au Portugal les IP qui sont des autoroute qui on était finançais grâce a l'union européenne qui était gratuite ils y a 11 ans sont devenue payante en 2009 après la cris de 2008 scandaleux finançais en grande partis par l’Europe pour désenclave le Portugal et tous les usagés quelle qui soit doit s’acquittaient des péages quand ils passe sous des portiques.Alors la c'est le bouquet autoroute sans péage et bien non il vous envois sur les péage de plus très lent pour recalculé l'itinéraire le mappy série 300 Europe le recalcule et 10 fois plus rapide depuis windows 10 impossible de le maitre a jour. pour mon expérience plus jamais de tomtom tous et payant pour quel service néant.Alors une opportunité c'est présenté a moi Garmin - DriveSmart 61 LMT-S - GPS Auto - 6,95 pouces - Cartes Europe 46 pays - Cartes, Trafic, Zones de Dangers . après 2 heurs 30 de mise a jour sur gamine express gps connecté a mon ordi.le mode d'emploi est dans le gps allé dans paramètre vous activé ou désactive les fonction que vous désiraient pou les alertes dans menu assistance aux conducteur appuyer dessus chapitre alerte points d’intérêt cliqué dessus audio cliqué dessus puis tonalité continue puis enregistré, alarme coché alertes de sécurité routière et enregistrer et la les alertes sont oké les son sont peut audibles se qui est gênant pour les têtes en l'aire mais elles s’affiche en bandeau rouge sur toute la parti supérieur du GPS pour moi très bon produit il suffit de bien le prendre en main. C'est pour moi 1000 fois mieux que tomtom adieux les tournés en rond est les KMS en plus puis les heures perdu EST LES CARTE PAS AJOUR. . .

Ho rotto accidentalmente il mio vecchio (10 anni) navigatore, una seccatura prenderne uno nuovo, ma quello integrato nell'auto ha limiti che quelli "esterni" non hanno, come punti personalizzati, più agevole programmazione, aggiornamenti più frequenti, ecc.Ho optato per Garmin (come il precedente per avere i comandi simili); il modello Drivesmart 61 mi pareva il compromesso migliore con il precedente. Mi sbagliavo di grosso!Si tratta di un oggetto molto bello, col monitor enorme (al primo impatto vi chiederete se vi lascerà spazio per vedere la strada...), con una grafica moderna e chiarissima. Chi ha già avuto un Garmin può cominciare a usarlo subito, anche se consiglio di leggere attentamente il manuale (purtroppo presente solo in forma digitale nell'apparato, per leggerlo davvero bisogna scaricare il pdf dal sito e stamparlo) perché le funzioni sono innumerevoli e senza la guida è quasi impossibile scoprirle da soli. Ottimo, anche se non infallibile, il riconoscimento vocale, chiara e per certi versi sovrabbondante la grafica in navigazione. Rispetto al vecchio navigatore sono enormemente migliorate la velocità di calcolo e la rappresentazione del percorso, oltre alla descrizione vocale, ci sono poi collegamenti a TripAdvisor e ai social per diverse attività e aggiornamenti a vita di mappe e autovelox. Per il resto, come si diceva, rispecchia il modo d'uso del mio vecchio navigatore e non ho avuto difficoltà a metterlo subito in uso. Utili le funzioni supplementari tramite collegamento allo smartphone.Appena acceso vi chiede l'aggiornamento, che è molto veloce: io l'ho fatto tramite computer con "Garmin Express", che avevo sempre trovato inefficiente ma che con questa unità si è comportato molto bene, con un solo stop transitorio per fluttuazioni di rete e fulminea ripresa. In tutto circa un'ora e mezza di lavoro con quasi 8 GB di dati, per cui evitate di giocare al computer durante l'aggiornamento. E ci sono aggiornamenti minori quasi ogni settimana! Il Wi-Fi funziona, ma nel mio caso ha fatto i capricci e ho preferito il collegamento via cavo USB che fornisce anche l'alimentazione.Sappiate che, non so come mai, usando cavi USB standard il navigatore avverte di non poter ricaricare la batteria, per cui dovrete procurarvi un adattatore per collegare il cavo da accendisigari alle normali prese elettriche.Il mio parere è estremamente favorevole, un balzo gigantesco rispetto alla mia vecchia unità!Per praticità d'uso, buttate la staffa a ventosa e prendete il supporto "bean bag" da cruscotto: tutta un'altra vita!

Nach langem Suchen habe ich mir dieses Navi gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden.Die Software einzulesen und das Kartenuptate zu machen, hatte zwar seine Zeit gedauert. Aber so etwas macht man nur einmal. Anschließend habe ich mir das Navi eingerichtet. Bei uns gibt es seit kurzer Zeit eine gesperrte Straße, die auch für immer gesperrt bleiben wird.Das ist im Navi noch nicht vorhanden und wenn man einen anderen Weg wählt, braucht das Navi nur weniger als eine Minute, um die Route neu zu berechnen.Ich habe bei mir in der Umgebung das Navi genutzt und ein Ziel eingegeben, welches ich kenne und wollte so einmal das Navi ausprobieren. Ich wurde sehr gut geführt, allerdings ganz anders als ich sonst fahre und mußte feststellen, daß ich nicht nur gut zum Ziel gekommen war, sondern der Weg auch erheblich kürzer war. So war ich noch nie gefahren und aber begeistert. Ich habe einen guten Kauf gemacht.Ich habe in meinem Audi auch ein Navi drin, aber beim Kauf habe ich dieses nicht aktivieren lassen. Die Aktivierung kostet sehr viel Geld und jedes weitere Update ebenfalls. Der Preis wäre für mich, für die wenigen Male, wo ich das Navi wirklich brauche, eine viel zu hohe Ausgabe. Das muß nicht sein. Das Gamin war ein guter Kauf. Man hat es nur einmal bezahlt, es funktioniert sehr gut und hat weniger gekostet, als eine Aktivierung meines fest eingebauten Navis im Audi. Außerdem ist es mobil, denn ich kann es in jedes andere Auto mitnehmen. Mein Mann hat ebenfalls einen Audi und sein Navi nicht aktivieren lassen. Auch dort könnte ich es nutzen, falls wir mal eine längere Reise mit seinem Auto machen.Da ich aber in früherer Zeit immer nach Karte gefahren bin, würde ich auch trotzdem bei einer längeren Reise vorher den Weg auf der Karte ansehen. So ist man nicht ganz orientierungslos bei Routenänderungen, wenn diese noch nicht im Navi aufgenommen wurden.Bei uns sind so einige Verkehrsstraßen in den letzten Jahren geändert worden. Bahnübergänge wurden gesperrt, der Straßenverlauf wurde geändert und auch ein Kreisverkehr ist entstanden, wo vorher nur eine gerade Straße war. Alle diese Dinge sind schon im Navi enthalten und wenn ich hier fremd in der Gegen wäre, so würde ich mit diesem Navi gut hinkommen. Mir gefällt daran, daß es für die Berechnung einer Route nur wenige Sekunden braucht, es hat ein großes Display, welches ich zusätzlich mit einem Panzerglas überklebt habe. So habe ich es stoß- und kratzsicher gemacht und das Display wird nicht verschmiert. Ich bin beeindruckt. Kaufempfehlung also JA:
