My Little Pony: The End Of Flutter Valley [DVD]

a decent presentation of a bad movie
The media could not be loaded. first time doing this, be gentlethe dvd; is just how i hoped. there are no special features, but unlike previous video releases, what your buying here isn't a feature length movie, but the ten episode story that it originally was. you can select an episode from the main menu, or play all the way through. sound and picture quality is greatly improved from VHS versions. the cover, like all of the metrodome pony releases, leaves allot to be desired, but is enjoyable in its own right. other then rosedusts wings...the movie; in my opinion this is the worse MLP episode from the original run, and it lets the brand down. it is supposed to be a direct sequel to the theatrical movie, and has much of the same characters, notably rosedust and the flutter ponies, the witched and oddly, the spider. we are also introduced to the bush woolies cousins. oh, and few if any of the voices are the same as in the actual movie. draggle, in particular, sounds awful, in both voice and actingthe story manages to be both bland and all over the place. very boring. the animation is so terrible that it might serve as the only enjoyment you'll get from this, to find all the mistakes. there are instances of flutter ponies hovering back and forth, but their eyes remaining completely static, of angle changes where the backdrop stays the same resulting in nonsensical characters diapering and emerging, issues with scale, slide show style animation when the flowers die - and then come back to life ET style, and more besides. i'm glad i didn't catch this one as a young child, as this sort of thing would often petrify me from the whole brand, and i might have missed out on allot of ponyoverall, i'll give this three stars. one for the dvd presentation, one for the young Mohican rebel bee, maybe the only good character. and one for putting a pony that looks like fluttershy on the cover. i don't think posey is in this, but i could always be wrong

TV version, not video version, but good all the same
The main problem wi this DVD is the show on it is split into ten parts, rather than flowing constantly, as it's taken from the series, rather than the rented videos we all used to pile into video libraries for, at least, that's how I watched every G1 MLP show I ever saw as a child...Apart from that it's as good now as it was then...
