Review: Good value. - I used to paint alot in my younger days, so i really wanted to return to it as it gave me so much peace and calmness. I didnt want to spend alot so i went onto desertcart to do a search. After reading a few descriptions i settled for this product. Why? Cheap, limited colours, compact. Upon receiving my item, i noted how nicely it was packed. In its own box, looked expensive than what i paid. The paint palette itself is made of strong white plastic. Upon opening it, i find 14 paint blocks, all neatly individually packaged in its place with its respective shade labelling on it. There is a small brush included and ample space as seen on the picture to mix shades etc. When opening the paint blocks packaging, i see how strong each colour is. Please take note, the colours included are not ahuge variation on eachother. For example 2 blocks are quite similar- '2 greens' in simple terms. This palette is a beginner set so you cannot expect to have all colours but a few with their darker shade alongside. I wet the brush and test each colour. I expected quality paint and i got it. I am delighted with my purchase and hope to buy a bigger set soon.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I am having trouble getting the pans to stay stable... Probably doing something stupid.. Please help.**
A: Yes, this is a problem, and I assumed I was the only one experiencing this until I read the reviews here.  I plan on buying museum putty to provide a firm but temporary hold.  My half pans (and I am referring to the actual plastic "holder," not the block of paint) are both loose and rock back and forth.  Not sure what the problem is.  Wearing down the paint may help a bit when it comes to the brush actually lifting the block of paint out, but nothing short of some sort of external adhesive will fix the looseness/unevenness of the half pans.  (I may be misusing the terminology - I always think of pan/half-pan as referring to the plastic housing around the paint, not just the solid block of paint within the housing.)

**Q: what size is the brush?**
A: The brush is approximately a #6 and 4.5" long. I am getting one of the store-in-the-handle ones because I personally prefer a longer handle. The one it comes with is of good quality. So if you are comfortable with a short brush you will be fine.  Best of luck.

A: Colors are: Lemon Yellow, Cadmium Yellow, Cadmium Red Pale Hue, Cadmium Red Hue, Alizarin Crimson Hue, Purple Lake, Ultramarine, Cerulean Blue Hue, Viridian Hue, Sap Green, Yellow Ochre, Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, Chinese White

**Q: does the paint fall out of pans?**
A: Yes and No. If they are brand new, it can. But once you start using them, the melted paint will fill the gap between the paint and the pan and they will dry out to stick to the pan. Hope this helps!

The whole box is very convenient and useful for field work. Love it. But one thing, seems the top can't be tightly sealed. That is the only thing i don't like. Anyway it is a very nice deal.
