Insta360 X3 Quick Reader

It does what it says it does, but you have to leave it on your camera to benefit. This means it's no longer waterproof or can use housing accessories. I bought this thinking I could just put a card in it and read to my phone, but it is only good if you record directly to it.

This worked once with the app. Now every time i try to use it i get a message ( in Chinese) telling me the drive path is incorrect. No way what so ever to change it so the reader is gathering dust in a drawer. Ps dont look on insta for help on their website because you wont find any help there. Save your money and give this a miss. Insta contacted me regarding this poor feedback. Unfortunately their " team" were worse than the defective quick reader. A very simple task like reading an email was beyond their capabilities, basic sentences were beyond their grasp. The team just reinforced my original thought that this item and this company is best given a wide birth and avoided. there are lots of other reputable brands to choose from other than these. Do not say you haven't been warned.

When you use this, it bypasses the memory card in the camera and goes right to the memory card in the quick reader. When you’re done shooting, you take this off the camera and plug it into the lightning port in your phone so it reads the files quickly. Way quicker for downloading and no Bluetooth/WiFi connection required. You do have to remove one of the covers on the camera to use this, but it comes off easily and this stays on very securely. Note: you can’t have this installed on the camera and attach the phone at the same time, it’s one or the other.

I was not able to edit video on the 360 app without this little device. (the app wouldn't let me) It allows me to edit the video now. I won't go into detail about why I couldnt edit. I put the SD card into this little guy and plug it into my phone and away I go. It did not solve the problem I had with the app saving the edited video onto my internal phone drive instead of my phones SD card. I thought that was what it would also allow but it doesn't. I had to buy a used phone with 256 gb of storgage in order to use the insta 360 app and this reader. The reader works great though.
